Language barrier of computers?
I recently bought an import CD from Japan. I love this CD and would like to burn it to my computer, but my laptop won't see it when its in the disk drive. Any idea why this is or how I can fix it?
Thanks Wendy. I did that yesterday and I thought it would help, but it still won't read the disc. :(

To add another language(s) to your computer to be recognizable:
Open your Control Panel (if you are running XP, click on Start, then on Control Panel)
Click on Regional and Language Options
Click on the Languages Tab
Under "Supplemental language support" click on "Install files for East Asian languages (which include Japanese in the list).
The prompt then will say "this will require 230 MB or more of available disk space".
If you are OK with that, click on OK.
Once installed "Japanese" should then be listed in your "Regional Options" tab of the Regional and Language Options to switch between Japanese and e.g. English
Hope this helps.

If Wendy's suggestion doesn't solve the problem you may want to look into changing the DVD region. I'm assuming the is a CD and not a DVD. But it might help. But be careful, I believe you can only change the region a few times.
