  • Mom blocks father's phone number in child's phone?

Long story short- I'm seeing a man who has two children from a previous relationship. His ex got upset over something ridiculous and blocked both of our phone numbers in his son's phone. He's often home alone (or babysitting his younger brother, they are 13 and 8 years old) and is sick frequently, and neither one of us can call or text to check in on him. Is this legal? Obviously we'd like to be able to get in touch with him and its not right that she took it upon herself to put a roadblock in our communication (on a side note there are no restraining orders or anything of that nature that would warrant this action).

Is there anything we can do to legally force her to unblock our numbers? She is the custodial parent, though we see the kids 2 weekends a month and almost every day when they get home from school. Obviously a father has a right to contact his child. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks!!

  • Dog misdiagnosed at vet?

About 6 months ago my dog started acting like her ears were bothering her and she seemed like she couldn't hear all that well so we brought her to the vet and he diagnosed her as having an ear infection (which was expected). He gave her some antibiotics and we gave them to her as prescribed, until the bottle was empty. We also thoroughly cleaned her ears every day. She seemed to be improving but we ran out of medicine and the progress stopped and the infection came back. We went back to the vet and got another prescription, but that bottle also ran out and she still can't quite seem to kick the infection. We checked online and it seems like she was given the right drug. We decided to try a different vet and get a second opinion, she again prescribed the same drug but didn't bother to really examine my dog (it was a late appointment, we figured she wanted to go home). We have again run out of the prescription with no real improvement. We are still regularly cleaning her ears. Her hearing has returned. Within the last week we have noticed that she has started to walk with a limp (right front leg), which is concerning because her right ear is more infected. Could the infection be spreading? Why can't we seem to get it to go away? ANY advice is much appreciated!!

    Additional info:

Dog is a yellow lab, about 5 years old.

We live in the country and she spends hours outside everyday.

She loves swimming in our pond (which is clean with no algae but plenty of fish and frogs)

About a year ago we adopted a cat, which received a clean bill of health from the vet. My dog has never lived with a cat prior, and we are considering the idea that maybe something transferred to the dog from the cat.

The cat and 4 people living in the house have no problems with ears or hearing.

    Thanks in advance!!!

  • Is this mental abuse and should I leave?

Last night I was on my way home from work when my father called and told me that he thinks it's time for my brother & I to go live with our mother (they're divorced). I am 19 and my brother is 15. As far as I know, there is no reason he should have been considering something this drastic. When I got home he said that he was sick of having to do all the housework everyday, even though I work almost full time and my siblings are still in school. My father in unemployed & home all day, every day. This turns into a rant about how evil my mother is. She's actually more tolerable than he is, he's still just bitter about the divorce.

So, he calls and tells me I should move out and then after I pack my overnight bag he tells me that I'll be nothing but a wh0re with no morals or values if I leave, and that if I leave I'm not welcome to come back.

This morning he's acting as if nothing had happened.

I don't want to stay here and have to put up with his crap, but I don't want to ruin my relationship with my father either.

    What should I do?

    Thanks!

  • Looking into buying a netbook, which would you recommend?

It could be your favorite one, the one you have, one you heard works really well, whatever.

I want it to bring back in forth to college. I'm going for a degree in business administration so I'll need internet access and I'll probably use Open Office for word processing. I do have a full sized laptop that I will leave at home & the netbook would not be a primary computer.

    Thanks!

  • Should I change my major in college?

I'm about to start my sophomore year of college. I've been majoring in Theatre Design/Technology, which I love, but I was thinking about changing my major to Business Administration. Here's what I'm thinking:

    Theatre

    Pros:

    -Fun & Exciting

    -I'm familiar with the field

    Cons:

    -Low paying

    -Difficult to find a career

    Business Administration

    -More practical

-Degree can be used for a variety of job positions (including theatre)

    -Field is growing

    -Pays much more

-Cheaper degree to obtain (for my college)

    Cons:

-Adds an extra year to college to make up for lost time

-As much as I like Business, I'm not as passionate about it as theatre.

    Opinions? Thanks in advance.

  • Resizing images with HTML?

I'm working on an internal website at work, and at the top of the page I have the company's logo. There are dozens of computers where I work, and some monitors are larger than others.

Is there a way (using HTML, XHTML, CSS, etc.) that I can get my image to automatically resize itself to the width of any monitor it is being displayed on? Like an "img: fit" tag or something? Please help. This has been eating me alive for a week.

PS. I'm coding this oldschool style- in MS Notepad. The default browser is Firefox.

  • Why do you think people prefer to watch movies instead of going to a playhouse?

It seems that a lot of people these days would rather stay home and watch a movie than go out and experience the theatre. Why is that?

I'll be using the answers for a paper I have to write, so be honest. It doesn't matter how simple the answers are. Easy points.

  • About my car stalling....?

When I was on my way to work yesterday, my car stalled twice. Once at a stop sign and again at a red light. It was fine on my way home. My dad and brother drove the car last night and it was fine. Then this morning it stalled again on the way to work. I was at a red light and it was raining. Do you have any ideas on how I could stop it from stalling? I've been driving all summer and its never done this until now.

PS There was a new battery installed in it Sunday (its Tuesday). I don't know if that has anything to do with it or not.

    Thanks in advance!

  • I need freeware advice.?

At work I'm in charge of keeping the company's MSDS's organized. I was told to upload what we have (over 500 documents) on the computers so that they can be accessed from any computer in the building. This can be either online or in a program, but I was hoping to get them in a program because the Internet goes out sometimes.

Basically I need very simple, user friendly freeware that other people can use to access these documents. (Keep in mind most of the people I work with are over 40 and not technilogically advanced- this is for them). Ideally, I want something of a search engine for these documents. A program you open and can search for what you need.

I know this is a bit much and kinda picky, but any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

  • Does he like me?

So there was this boy in my history class last year and I like him a lot but I keep getting mixed signals from him. We never really talked or anything. He sat on the other side of the room and we faced each other, except we were a few rows away. I caught him looking at me kind of a lot, and I think he probably caught me a couple times. We were both taken and then I left my boyfriend (not for him; coincidence) and he left his girlfriend at the beginning of summer. What do you think?

  • Language opinion question- easy points!?

I want to take a language in college- either Spanish or Japanese. I'd like to learn both languages eventually, but I figure I'll get one out of the way in college. I've already had 3 years of high school Spanish, and I can say basic things. I've never had any formal Japanese classes, but I'm really interested in the culture and I listen to a lot of Japanese music. I'd say I'm far more interested in Japanese, but I already have a good start for a Spanish class. Plus, where I live theres a lot of people who speak Spanish and not many who speak Japanese. Help! What do you think?

  • Languages- Career advice?

I'm thinking about going to college to get a degree in either Spanish or Japanese. I've always been really interested in languages, and I would like to have a career involving one, but not necessarily teaching or translating. Are there any other careers that would need someone who is bilingual?

  • 1989 GMC Sierra Emblem Needed?

So I drive a 1989 GMC Sierra K2500 with "GMC" centered on the tailgate. The only problem is that the M went missing a few years ago and the G went missing today. So now it just reads "C". Does anyone know where I could get new letters? They're reflective and red. I tried looking a few places with no luck. An online store that ships out would be preferable, but any automotive place in northeast Ohio works too.

If nothing comes up I think I'm just going to rip the C off as well. It looks absolutely rediculous.

  • Canaan printer- wrong cartrige?

My printer was working fine and then the screen started flashing "wrong cartrige" and now it refuses to print. The computer says its printing, but nothing happens. No one touched the cartriges except for when we checked to make sure they were in the right places. None of them are empty. It is a Canaan F30. Its only about 5 years old.

Can anyone help me fix this problem?!
