statistics question?

Compare a multinomial experiment to a binomial.

How are they different? How are they the same?

How is the X2 distribution different from a normal distribution?

I am so lost, can anyone help me figure this out?

Thanks,

Jennifer

A multinomial random variable with two values is a binomial, successes and failures. the binomial, or a two option multinomial is the sum of n independent and identically distributed Bernoulli trials. when you have the sum of multiple random variables with more than two possible outcomes then you have a multinomial trial.

the chi-square is the sum of n independent and identically distributed normal random variables. a good site about this is found at http://mathworld.wolfram.com/Chi-SquaredDistributi...
