Recommend Dog Crate for Airplane Flight?

I will be traveling with my Shih Tzu (20 lbs) on the plane home for Christmas. It is only an 1 1/2 flight (compared to a 13 hour drive). I was wondering if any of you could recommend airline approved carry-ons that I can put him in? I'm seeing my vet tomorrow, but wanted to get your opinion as well. Thank you!!!

If you go to any large pet store, such as PetsMart, they have a number of models made just for that purpose. They usually fit under the seat. The vet may recommend the features you should look for when making the pruchase. Just be sure you clarify this with the airline a few days before you leave to avoid any surprises. Some airlines let you take the dog in the passenger compartment, and some insist on the cargo bay. Have a great trip!!

I don't know about the crate, but I would recommend water in his crate like those little guinea pig water dispensers, and a crate fan (sold at pet stores like Pets Mart). I've read that it can get hot for dogs in crates on planes.
