For people with actual experience with Windows Vista, please tell me if I should have it on my new cmputer.?

I am thinking of purchaisng a new computer. I noticed the majority, whether HP, Dell or Gateway, include Windows Vista for home. I don't know much but wonder what issues I should worry about. How big of memory and speed should I have for now and in the future? Any educated or experiental help would be greatly appreciated.

Also what are the advantages & disadvantages of a desk top verses a laptop, including one with a docking station.

It is fine if you just want it for straightforward surfing. I dont think it is any good to you if you like to download games as I think alot of them are not compatible yet. Mine is a 1 gigabite and 896 mb ram and is a dual core processor 3800 which I find ok, but I dont know if it is good for games, and obviously the more you pay for your computer the better it is going to be. I havent really found any problems with it, I have windows vista premium and the only thing is you have to make sure whatever you are downloading is compatible with vista (as not everything is). I prefer a desk top as I think you get more for your money and I personally find them much easier to type on! Hope that helps a little!
