statistics word problem?
Word problem: In 1990, 5.8% of job applicants who were tested for drugs failed the test. At the 0.01 significance level, test the claim that the failure rate is now lower if a random sample of 1520 current job applicants results in 58 failures. Does the result suggest that fewer job applicants now use drugs?
Can you help me with this, please?!?
Thanks for any help,
Jennifer

If you divide 58 by 1520 (58 / 1520) you get the number 0.038157894..... that shows that only 3.8% failed the drug test. So yes fewer applicants use drugs (or at least, failed the test)
