Help! Kool-aid stain on sweatsuit!?

My daughter spilled a whole glass of RED kool-aid on her light blue terry cloth sweatsuit. How can I get it out? It is all over it so spot spraying won't work.

Hoooo boy! Assuming the stain hasn't been there for very long, I would put it in a normal cold wash load. I would use the regular detergent, but rather than use stain spray, I'd put the load's worth of detergent all over sweat suit and rub the detergent into the fabric before putting it into the washer.

Load the rest of your clothes into the wash as normal. When the machine is done, go back and check to see if the stain has gone. If not, you may need to do this again in another cold wash after line drying.

Whatever you do, do NOT use heat in either the water or the dryer until the stain is gone. Otherwise, you'll forever set the stain.

And if that should happen, buy yourself a box of red Rit dye and dye the sweatsuit red! :)

    good luck!

DOn't put it in the dryer until the stain is gone. You'll heat set the stain and never get it out.

Use club soda. My friend's mom got red Kool Aid out of her Persian rug with it and I got green popsicle stains out of my car upholstery with it. Just pour it on. Then launder as usual. Good luck.

PS--Since the stain is all over you might want to soak the sweatsuit in club soda instead of trying to pour it over the stain.

I would recommend using Peroxide. it works the same way as bleach without the changing of the color of the sweat suit. I have 2 kids so i'm used to having alot of stained clothing. Shannon:)

If you still have the shirt then disolve 1/2 cup of oxi clean in warm water wet the shirt soak in the solution over night. then wash as usual = New shirt!!!

Source(s): I soak a lot of stains off in oxi clean and haven't had a problem yet some stains do take a longer soak than others. Enjoy clean clothes!!
