Does anyone take Cymbalta?

I have anxiety and depression and sometimes it gets really bad so the doctor gave me Cymbalta to try (mainly for the anxiety) because my prozac just made me angry. Anyone who takes it can you tell me if you like it or don't? I was reading about some of the side effects and what not and just wanted to get some other people input. I know most of the side effects are common with every pill but I just wanted to see what other people had to say about it. Thanks.

When I was first diagnosed with depression and anxiety in high school, I was put on Zoloft. Zoloft worked for a couple of years, then it quit. So I went about a year or so without taking anything for my depression, or doing anything to keep it under control.

After my stepsister lost her unborn baby last fall, that really triggered my depression and it was pretty bad. Yet again, I quit college, and just didn't want to do anything. So Vocational Rehabilitation referred me to a counselor. I started seeing the counselor, but I was still in an anti-medication mode. I didn't want to start taking drugs for my depression again. But that didn't really work out, and I reconsidered. Saw a psychiatrist, and she gave me Cymbalta. in December, I started off with a 30 mg dose for the first week, then took 60 mg since then. The first couple of weeks or so, I was so whacked up. So drowsy (I thought taking Cymbalta in the evening with my supper would help, thinking I could sleep it off and be fine the next day... didn't quite work out that way), felt sick to my stomach if I took it without food (which is why I took it at dinner time), had a bit of dry mouth, loss of appetite. But then I started feeling more normal and more like my old self again.

Now, my appetite's completely normal (my family like to joke that I have a hollow leg...), it doesn't make me drowsy anymore. I still prefer to take it with food, and some nights I have night sweats, but it's not too bad. I'm glad I changed my mind about taking medication to help with my depression. It has made a huge difference. There are still times when I'm feeling down (which is normal for everyone), but for the most part, I'm happy and more positive about life. I'm actually doing things, striving for certain things, and more motivated to do this and that and trying to achieve my goals. And going to counseling regularly helps me too, as issues come up and I'm not quite too sure of how to deal with them, and the counseling helps with that. Both the counselor and psychiatrist are really pleased with how well I am doing, and my family is too. Oh man, I drove my mom insane when I was depressed, as I never talked to her, and whenever I got angry I was ANGRY and she just didn't know how to deal with it. Even the Cymbalta helps with some of my PMS problems. I used to be REALLY irritable and crabby and all whem I was PMSing, but now that doesn't happen very often anymore. And not only has Cymbalta helped with my depression and even PMS, I've also noticed a huge decrease in headaches and migraines too.

And this has gotten to be long enough, so I'll quit rambling now.

I had been taking Cymbalta for slightly over a 12 months. It has relatively helped me with my despair and I attempted approximately five-10 antidepressants earlier than Cymbalta. NOt certain whether it is to be had in Canada however i could suppose so for the reason that its been out for a alteast a 12 months and a part within the states.

i have been on cymbalta for almost 2 weeks and i really like it. i have tried most other antidepressants and this one is one of the better ones. the biggest thing i like is that it lowers my appetite so i dont eat as much. i havent noticed any other side effects. so i think this one is safe.
