Prayer Request: Fires in San Diego.?

If you haven't heard yet, there are some major fires in the city of San Diego - the worst case of fires that San Diego has on record. This, of course, affects me greatly, but I am more worried about the people losing their houses and so on. This is a prayer request for the safety of my fellow San Diego citizens and for the containment of the fires - there are about eight or nine of them. Thank you in advance.

Update:

Joe R: That is why God made us different. We have different functions. We, as Christians must do what we can, and the case for us young Christians is that we must pray.

Update 2:

Paul E: You know you are provoking people's responses. What purpose is there to attract that much attention on the internet?

Update 3:

NQV: I am a U.S. citizen. I am underage. I do not vote. When have I destroyed the lives of others? I haven't killed anyone, and I do not have enough power as a citizen to choose the leaders of this nation. What goes around comes around, but the Devil also comes to steal, kill and destroy spontaneously. That is why we must pray.

Update 4:

Trunchbull: Thank you for the advice. I am definitely ready for anything.

Indeed, my prayers are going up for those who have lost their homes and so much more! What a tragedy and so, as a Christian, I assure you I have been praying and I will continue to keep praying too!

God bless you for having such a precious heart for others!!

Many prayers have gone up & God has heard the prayers. We now need to thank God for the people who are making a difference & for the safety of people who are stuck in this situation.

I thank God that their needs are taken care of with more than enouph & plenty left over. That the insurance companies will pay the cost. That the government will pay whatever additional that is necessary to reconstruct, etc...

But, I think we need to look into what we (US) could have done to prevent this in the first place. Maybe we weren't praying enouph ahead of time.

The Lord told me not to pray about the fires, but to pray for the people & their safety & well being.

Also, thank God that there hasn't been more than 2 deaths known so far. God is surely giving favor & protecting people through this very difficult time. What the enemy has meant to destroy lives, the Lord has prevented many deaths.

We are now back in our home after being evacuated for 3 days. We live next to Rancho Bernardo....

There are so many areas in San Diego that are affected by all these different fires.. Many have lost their homes and animals.

But it seems San Diego didn't wait just for help from the Red Cross (and the Red Cross has been great), the city instantly provided shelters in High Schools, Community Centers, Del Mar Race track and Qualcom Stadium. Even the military are helping.

And I think the best thing is there seems to be just as many volunteers as there are people who need help.

I'm thankful my family is fine and I'm especially thankful I live in such a great community that has such wonderful people.

God Bless the Firefighters for all their long hours of back breaking service. Thank them whenever you see them.

And thank you and everyone for your prayers.

The Santa Ana's. All of us here in SD know, or at least all of us should know that a dry winter and Santa Ana's cause severe fires. It's a part of the risk of living here. It's terrible and sad for the hundreds of thousands of people who have been evacuated and for the 1700 families who have lost their homes. Sadly, there are things we can do to minimize our risk of fire danger but living in the high desert during fire season is a danger. All we can do now is listen to the fire fighters and police and keep our families safe.

Dear Rudy, also remember that when you go destroy the homes of others with fire and bring desolation to their cities, some of it comes to you, so that you become aware of it. When you are praying, also pray for forgiveness for what happened in Iraq and what is happening in Palestine.

When you go to other countries and destroy their homes and lives, your lives will be destroyed as to the Lord there is no difference between one nation and another, unless that nation is doing wrong.

Iraq got and is getting its punishment for attacking Iran in 1980 in which a million Iranians were killed. Saddam ultimately paid a price too.

What goes around comes around. Do not become arrogant and be humble and see reality for what it is. When you destroy the lives of others your life will be destroyed as well. Read my response to Joe regarding the First Gulf War also.

That said, indeed we must pray for those under stress in San Diego and New Orleans. Distressed souls are an opportunity for us to help them and alleviate their suffering, so the Lord Almighty spares us of our own wrong doings. NO ONE IS INNOCENT!! NONE!! So we should all fear, but be watchful of our own actions as well as the actions of others around us as all actions have reactions in the larger scheme of things.

Just ignore the negative....its not worth it.

I sure will be praying about the fires, the people, the homes, the firefighters. I will pray for their safety and that they will turn to God in their time of need.
