dodge uses the powerful Cummins engine. I have the 3500 an 04 model. I get 21 mpg on the highway and when i have my goose neck attached i get 16. No matter what I'm hauling. I also have a manual transmission. Never mate a auto with a diesel that just begging for trouble if you tow.
However, the dodge is a no frills vehicle. Unlike the Chevy which has every bell and whistle you could want.
The Allison transmission, though an automatic is a pretty good choice if you not towing stuff.
The ford power joke i means stroke is a short term engine in my opinion but the truck itself is built better than Chevy or dodge.
What you gonna use it for. Show? Get the duramax. Work get the dodge and well the ford is some where in between.
Good driving.

I did the research and spent months agonizing over which truck was the best. I ended up with an 2004 F350 Ford Crew Cab Long bed 4x4 with the 6.0 Powerstroke Diesel. Now that I have had it for a couple of years I am still very happy with the choice I made. It has been one tough truck. I have 55,000 miles of off and on the road severe use both towing and off roading. So far I have had to have the steering Pittman arm tightened and the power steering pump replaced, both under the manufacturer's warranty. The mileage is good, 18-21 MPG on the highway, the truck has power to spare, and it will be headed back to the desert this weekend towing my sand rail. I only wish the sand rail was as tough as the truck.

Brand new, the Chevy and Ford are about tied, in the past Ford was a little bit ahead of Chevy. And Dodge has always brought up the rear. Not due to power or anything, it is very powerful, but due to reliability.

i'm on my 2nd Chevy diesel silverado, only traded 1st one to get a different color. This one has 86k miles on it. I'd buy another tommorrow if i had to. Hate the look of the Dodge, and despise the noise from the Fords.

Definately Ford Powerstroke---2008 Ford 6.4 with twin turbos.Quiet for a diesel, smooth takeoff because of both turbos with more power. It also has lower emissions. Will start in 20 below weather.Lots of improvements.Plus you are buying the top selling truck in the world for 30 years.

all or good and any can have a lemon. Which do you seem to have better luck with? As for the current better truck look at the car races and horse shows to see what more people are using.
