  • What are some retirement rentals in Connecticut?

My parents are ready to retire but do not wish to purchase property. Are there any retirement communities with the option to rent in Connecticut? Thanks!

  • Why would it be in someone's best legal interest to get married in New York as opposed to Connecticut?

My friend's fiancee's family insists that they get married in New York as opposed to Connecticut, even though they will be doing so right over the border. I suspect there is legal grounds for this (she makes very good money compared to him) but I need someone to give me a crash course on the differences between the two. Thanks!

  • How should I proceed?

A few weeks back I found rodent damage in my storage unit. This is not covered by insurance nor is the facility responsible, based on the contract. I asked the manager to cancel my automated payment for the month given the circumstances and he agreed. I informed him I would be vacating the unit within the next few weeks and he obliged. A couple of days later, however, I received a bill for the rent as well as a late penalty and a notice that my unit would be locked until I paid. I think it's ridiculous that I have to pay to be able to vacate my unit given the circumstances and after he agreed to cancel my payment. How should I proceed to successfully access my belongings without giving in to pay for a rodent-infested storage unit? Thanks.

  • How can we ensure visitation rights?

My boyfriend has a son he does not get to see. We live in Connecticut. He is supposed to see him every weekend but his ex wife is making it virtually impossible to do this, going as far as making up stories of domestic violence. Is there an alternative to hiring a lawyer? Are there any resources available? Thanks.

  • Can I get tax credit for money donated to an inmate?

I live in Connecticut and I have a friend in a correctional institution in California. I often send him money to purchase toiletries, etc. Is there a credit available for this? If so, how do I go about claiming it? Thanks!

  • How do I adjust my feelings?

I am currently 'the other woman' in an emotional affair. My 'friend' and I communicate throughout the day, we talk about EVERYTHING and he's helping me go through a very difficult, personal problem. The relationship started off as a strictly physical relationship but he insisted on forming the friendship we now have. I have very mixed feelings about our 'relationship' and don't know how to handle it. I have developed romantic feelings towards him so I want to run away; at the same time, I feel I need him as my source of support during this process I'm currently undergoing. I know he cares about me but I don't think he feels the same way I do.

  • What would you do if you were the girlfriend?

What would you do if your man of 2 years tells another woman that his life was bland before meeting her and is now spicy? They have had a close friendship for the last 7-8 months of your relationship.

  • What do you think of this scenario?

A girl who has not received a ring or marriage proposal from her boyfriend of two years is planning their wedding with her mother in law. She has all the details down to a science and even has the date picked out. The boyfriend has confided in friends that he doesn't feel ready but lacks the balls to stop the planning. Do you think he's just going along? How can this work out?

  • What do you think of this situation?

A guy has a girlfriend. Although the relationship is not perfect, he believes she is the one for him. However, he has a close, female friend. So close, in fact, that they communicate literally up to 50 times a day and have sex whenever they see each other. He tells his friend things about himself of which his girl and family are completely unaware. The friend started seeing him for sex only and the friendship blossomed from there. The friend has tried to distance herself from him, afraid of the consequences of their actions for both but, he refuses to let go. He even decided they wouldn't have sex anymore if that's what was bothering the other woman, as long as he is able to communicate with her as openly and as often as he has been doing throughout their 'relationship'. What is going on here?!

  • What causes a young man not to be able to function sexually?

I went on a date with a very attractive, healthy, 24 year old the other night. He had been asking me out for some time and I finally agreed to go to dinner. He is about 10 years my junior and said he had always had a crush on me. After dinner, drinks and some music we decided to go spend some time alone. After some foreplay and initial intercourse, however, he found himself unable to perform. After laying back, relaxing for a bit while watching a movie he attempted intercourse a second time with no success. He was very embarrassed and upset and refuses to see me again in that way. He insists he enjoyed my company, had fun, finds me attractive but can't go there again. What happened? How can I make him feel comfortable with the idea again?

  • Would you come back for a second round?

I had sex with a guy and he was not the best. He asked me if I was satisfied and I answered truthfully: no! I did not sugar coat it nor did I lie about his performance. After an experience like that, would a man be interested in going for a second chance and prove himself or would he want to have nothing to do with the woman?

  • Is it possible to stay in a relationship for the family?

I have a friend who is in a relationship but not really all there. However, he is extremely close to the girl's father, loves the mother and adores the little brother. Do you think he is afraid of breaking up with the family? Has anyone experienced this? He refuses to move in with her or take the relationship to the next level but, he can't quite break it off. They do everything as a family and they hardly ever spend time together alone. Any thoughts?

Unaware of the negative impact, at a job interview last week I mentioned my union helped me during my resignation process. • Do you think I should leave him?

I was looking through the history on our computer and found out that my boyfriend's ex wife's MySpace page had been visited recently. At the beginning of our relationship, about a year ago, we had an argument over him sending her a message telling her he loved and missed her. After much denial, I hacked into his account and saw the message myself. He insisted he just missed having a significant other, waking up next to someone, having a family (he has a son), and our relationship was so new... blah, blah, blah. Now he's insisting he hasn't seen her MySpace page in ages when the history indicated the latest visit was just a few days ago. I know for a fact that she doesn't want to be with him. She is recently engaged and expecting a child. She's very much in love with her new partner. So, my concern is not that he is cheating, my concern is him being obsessed with her or still in love with her. I don't want to be with someone who is secretly desiring to be with someone else. He insists he loves me and has been through some really rough patches with me but, this whole situation bothers me. What do you think?

  • Was I at fault for the response to my post?

I am an agnostic. Last night I was watching a film based on the true story of a Mormon family where a 14 year old girl was raped by her father and then forced to marry an old man who was considered a prophet. The girl was told this was the only way she could go to Heaven. As I watched the film I updated my status on Facebook with the line 'Religion is poison' since that was what I was thinking as I watched the film and based on my personal belief. My boyfriend's 17 year old sister, who is a practicing Christian, got very bent out of shape and proceeded to insult me and tell me what I can and cannot post on Facebook. After unsuccessful attempts at expressing my point of view and considering her age as she attempted to scorn me, I told her I can express my opinion about anything I want in any form I want. After a quick phone call to her aunt, the aunt jumped in calling me ignorant. Ultimately, both unfriended me. I called the aunt and tried to explain why I posted the line and tried to apologize if I offended them, stressing that it was never my intention. She insisted she is tired of reading my opinions and doesn't want to hear anything further. I feel horrible since this is all backlashing on my boyfriend who is getting an earful from his family, including advice for us to break up. Was I wrong? I feel I have the right to have my own opinion as long as I respect others'. I didn't make the comment towards anyone in particular and, out of the hundreds of religious friends I have on Facebook, only the two of them had to stress about it. What are your thoughts?

  • How can I control my anger?

I've already been to anger management classes but my anger continues to be an issue. I have a wonderful boyfriend but I am afraid I am going to lose him if I don't figure out a way to control my anger. If he does something that bothers me in the least I get extremely angry and depressed sometimes for days on end. I know my reaction is not justified by his actions but I feel it's very difficult for me to calm down. I'm being treated for anxiety and take my medication and follow my doctor's advice religiously. What can I do?
