What causes a young man not to be able to function sexually?

I went on a date with a very attractive, healthy, 24 year old the other night. He had been asking me out for some time and I finally agreed to go to dinner. He is about 10 years my junior and said he had always had a crush on me. After dinner, drinks and some music we decided to go spend some time alone. After some foreplay and initial intercourse, however, he found himself unable to perform. After laying back, relaxing for a bit while watching a movie he attempted intercourse a second time with no success. He was very embarrassed and upset and refuses to see me again in that way. He insists he enjoyed my company, had fun, finds me attractive but can't go there again. What happened? How can I make him feel comfortable with the idea again?

you should leave him alone, he maybe has anxiety problems and now he needs to find again his self esteem most probably with another girl.

so all he needs is time. when he feels prepare he will try out it again because i think you has become a personal goal to achive for him.

Alcohol, nerves, performance anxiety, medications, a physical problem-- all those things can have an effect.

I suggest you present him with the opportunity to date you without sex for a while. Having sex on the first date is really, in my opinion, putting physical intimacy before building and real emotional intimacy.
