If you're dealing with someone who is actively drinking, I'd say no. That person will prioritize drinking over everything else: their job, their family, their health.
Recovering alcoholics: Maybe. I think recovery is a bit of a spectrum. Some of them exist way over there in the Recovered Zone and are as trustworthy as people can be, but a lot of them struggle daily and shouldn't be put in places where they can be tempted. The more self-honest among them recognize this and stay out of situations where they can be tempted.
