Can someone with limited experience, replace the fuel injectors on a 97 Chevy Cavalier by his or herself?

Or is it better left to the professionals?

If you have taken on other tasks successfully, fuel injectors are manageable. Here's a set of instructions that you can look at so you can get an idea of what you're going after:

I own a shop, and what I think is this; If you are mechanically inclined, have the tools, take your time, and have some instructions to go by, then "yes" you can! Of course it is "always" better to leave any job to a professional, but a pro is not always an option. Information is free, and if you go to the library, and look at a "Chilton's Repair Manual", read it twice, follow the directions to the letter, and you shouldn't have any problems. Pay special attention to the warnings, and the cautions that are outlined in the manual. Its important to know that you can damage things such as the clips that hold the wiring harness to the injectors, and O-rings that go onto the injectors. Like I said; pay attention, take your time, and follow the directions. Use a camera to take pictures as you go, so you have no questions about how something goes.

Glad to help out, Good Luck!!!

yeah, if you have a repair manual, you should be able to do this at home, but if you don't feel comfortable doing it, maybe it is better left to professionals...

Do not do this yourself, unless you're very mechanically inclined. You can do some serious engine damage if you screw up.

If you do it yourself, make sure you don't forget the o-rings.
