No fever but very sore throat?
I woke up sick this morning with a very sore throat and stuffy head (aka nose, headaches, etc.). I went into work this morning as I didn't have a fever. I left early today to get some medicine to help kick this cold. I just got back from a vacation today and I think I may have gotten sick on the plane. (8 hour plane ride) Question is, since I just got back from vacation, should I call in tomorrow or go in since I don't have a fever? If I do call in, I do plan on going to my doctor to make sure I don't have anything worse...i'm going to give it the night and take Nyquil to see if that works. Thanks!

Changes in environment and physical exhaustion from a vacation are forms of stress too. You had decreased resistance and was prone to colds. Before you take Nyquil have a warm saline inhalation first to flush out all the impurities youve inhaled all those times in different places. Do it 10 to 15 min 2x a day, then take the Nyquil. Avoid cold drinks and then take a rest. For the throat to decongest it , do warm saline gargle 2-3x a day. If it still persists or you develop a fever, go see your doctor.

All over the counter meds only take care and cover up the symptoms, they do not make a serious sickness go away. An antibiotic is what takes away the sickness cause it attacks the cause and main germ or problem in your system.

a sore throat is usually an early sign of a fever. or you could be getting a cold since it is close to winter and its getting cold..but i would call in and see a doctor..better safe then sorry...and its better to treat sicknesses at an early stage then to wait for it to get worse..good luck

take zicam and go to work. If you dont have a fever, it's just a cold or allergies. try taking theraflu along with the zicam. you should be feeling great in no time.
