scary movies for kids?
I have a 5yr.old girl & a 6yr. old boy who are both driving me crazy to watch a scary movie! Any suggestions on some semi-scary flicks that hopefully won't induce nightmares???

Goonies! It is my favorite scary kid movie. Also, if you could find Rumpelstilskin from Farie Tale Theature (try Netflix). That one scares the pants off my seven year old.

My daughter is 12 and last year or so just started watching scary movies... She only watches certain ones.
She says she gets scared and has nightmares and has learned to monitor watch she can handle and what she cant.
I feel proud that she can make this choice for her self without me worrying that I'm doing something that may harm her.

For what it's worth, I've found that renting a movie to watch at home is less scary for kids than seeing one in the theater.
Maybe "The Wizard of Oz"?

Hocus Pocus and the Little Vampire (not sure of exact title-kid from Jerry Macguire is in it) are my kids favorites. They also love Goonies, but there is a tiny bit of swearing and adult content (when they break the penis off the statue) so that would depend on your comfort level. My son also loves Jurassic Park.
