What is a dependable four door sedan?

I am looking to buy a new car and I know I want a four door, compact sedan. I drive a Toyota Camry right now and love it, but was looking for a domestic car. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you!

Check out the 2008 Ford Focus. It gets up to 39 mpg, has lots of standard safety features, and a voice activated entertainment system. It also has a sporty look and handling to it. Here are the specs, pics, options, and comparisons: http://www.fordvehicles.com/cars/focus/

You have a lot of good choices out there. Personally I am happy to see you want to buy domestic. You could go Chevrolet Impala,Buick Lucerne.Pontiac Grand Prix or you could go Ford Taurus or Fusion. Then you have the Chrysler line 300, Sebring Dodge Charger or Avenger. It depends on what fits your needs. My personal favorite would be the Avenger or Charger I figure with a lifetime power train warranty you cant go wrong.

To the guy that said his camry outlasted 2 domestics by 250k I am more than willing to challenge that. I want to know what type of maintenance he did or didn't do is more accurate. As for Toyota Camry or any Toyota for that matter Most recalls of any car maker last three years. One of the most repaired cars in the Sienna. So I would not recommend Toyota.

The 2011 Honda Accord is a good four door car. It gets about 40 mpg and it can fit 5 people. The 2012 Toyota Pruis gets 51 mpg. Also a 5 seated. But it does not have a lot of trunk space. If you are looking for trunck space get a Honda Accord.

Ford Focus, Escort, or Chevy Lumina, Caviler have all been noted as being dependable cars. If you are purchasing a used car i might suggest that you get a certified used car from a dealer. They will offer a little bit of warranty on it and have been very throughout in checking out these vehicles to make sure that they will be a dependable and safe car.

I only stress this because the front wheel drive cars tend to have CV joint and Transmission issues around 130K and should be purchase a used vehicle from a individual and have problems you will feel like you were taken, when a dealer is likely to offer a warranty and so sort of assistance.

Ever though cars today are able to put on hundreds of thousands of miles they still need properly maintained and a Car dealer can better judge the previous owners maintenance schedule better then most.

    So good Luck.

    Go for a Chevy Malibu:

The Chevrolet Malibu promises to be everything that the previous model was not: stylishly dressed inside and out and as roomy and smooth-driving as the class-leading Honda Accord, Nissan Altima and Toyota Camry. Exterior fit and finish, quality of interior materials and driving refinement all take a big stride forward.

    Good Luck.

You are much better off with the Camry, i bought 2 new domestic car and Suv, I wont say the name but i will never buy an American owned car or Suv again. Iwas burnt twice. For a fact the Camry out lasted both the American Suv and car by 250,000 thousand miles. The Camry's are made in America and that is great it is not the American workers fault they are building junk it it the American Giant Company that are responsible. When you spend 70,000 or two new American Cars and they both dont make it over 70,000 miles that is a problem, Buy a honda or camery and you have a few hundered thousand to go. Very sad, American cars are garbage you are only asking for a headach and wasting money.

Stick with the Toyota or buy a Honda. Domestic cars are still not generally as reliable.
