would you build near a place that floods-often, or in places where fires occure often?
Do you feel sorry for people who deliberately do so and then see their homes destroyed because of where they chose to build? Be honest.

It is unfortunate that we don't know what to expect from mother nature, but his is partly are fault as there has been talk of these things happening since back in the 70's in terms of global warning that the govt. has chose to ignore. I lived in San Diego, back in the 70's and there were no fires that I remember, in fact I wanted to move back out there till I heard about the fires a couple of years ago. I think that if those in CA knew of these dangers for fire and chose to live there, they should pay for their own insurance to cover their losses and be prepared to leave the area. I don't think the govt. should be responsible in anyway for rebuilding. No, I don't feel sorry for people who chose to take the risk.
As for the floods in New Orleans, which had never flooded to my knowledge before, I do feel sorry for those who had been there along time and lost everything because the govt. was unwilling to take care of the wall that held back the water that caused the flood in the first place (which by the way I think was primarily the 9th ward which is primarily a Black neighbor. Hmm?) I feel especially sorry for those in New Orleans who I believe the govt. did not respond to in a timely fashion. I do however think that over the last few years that we have seen great fires in CA and the flooding of the south eastern states from Hurricane Ivan and Katrina that it is completely ludicrous to rebuild there and then expect to be insured by the govt. to rebuild again. Why do we all have to pay for FE MA to rebuild these places when it is known that this could happen again? Again those who choose to live there should have good private insurance to rebuild themselves not rely on FE-MA. No I don't feel sorry for those who chose to go back to a situation that has not been resolved by the govt in terms of fixing that wall or Levi what ever it is call in New Orleans. The govt should have fixed it so avoid what happened. I would never move to the south, west , or even the west coasts now because of all the problems they are having which I truly believe has a great deal to do with the global warming.

no I don't honestly and I think that they should keep all pictures and keepsakes in a safe if they are going to live in these areas. I do kinda feel sorry for the ones who are getting screwed by the insurance companies.
