Can you get sky tv without having a telephone fitted?

Yes, but you have to pay £25 and can only have one box, uou cant have multi room.

The reason they want a phone line is that they randomly phone in to your box to see if all is well. This stops you taking your card and box and using in somewhere else like Spain........ And with mulit-room you could be supplying neighbours with Sky - they don't want that either. But they will 'allow' you one box with no phone line for an extra fee.

Dunno if you can with Sky but I have Virgin with only TV & Internet provided, so I'm sure other cable companies would be as willing. The last flat we were in we had a phone line as well & not only was it never used more often than not it wasn't even plugged in!

sky wont allow it...we tried. The phone is now off and we still have sky, but they won't install without a phone...

ps we can still watch ppv movies without the phone

I think they need the line to update channels etc, call them and ask
