Japan in December?

I am travelling with 2 kids aged 10 and 11 to Osaka, Kyoto and Tokyo from 3 DEC till 12 DEC. Wonder what's the weather like in these 3 places and also where would be a good place to buy Nitendo devices with tax refund. As we are going free and easy i would like to know if there's anything i should not miss while staying in the 3 places. I've done my homework and plan to take the Sunrise Tours for Kyoto and Hakone but other than that i dunno what else to add on. The floating shrine looks good but its kinda expensive. Imagine spending USD$1000 on just a one day tour ( from Osaka ) for 1 adult and 2 kids. Any advice would be very much appreciated, thanks.

December is a beautiful season in Japan. Of course, it depends of the year, but generally, december is a big great blue sky! The temperatures are not very hight, but you should not go under 5 degres...I remeber more a 10-13 degres at this period of the year.

Osaka, you have to go to see the castle , Umeda and Namba...there is not such things to do in Osaka...one day will be fine.

Kyoto: go at least at the gold pavillon and the Kyomizudera. Anywhere else is OK for Kyoto. This year, the automn leaves are late and you should enjoy the beautiful colors of the automn in Kyoto. If you have time, go to Nara, it is not so far from kyoto (40km) and you children will enjoy it for sure (there is lot of dears in the park of Nara...full of shrines and temples, and the big bouddha)

Spend the most of your time there in Kyoto, it is really beautiful of Japan..even if the town is not really sexy.

Tokyo: You can buy things tax free at Akihabara.

Have a look at Shibuya, your kids will love the colors...lot of people (yougn people) in there.

Shinjuku (you can go to the TOKYO TOCHO (metropolitain office building, it is free to go to the to and enjoying a beautifull view of the megalopole!)

And Asakusa. There is a shrine and a temple, but it is quite different to Kyoto. It is the old town of Tokyo there.

Harajuku and Omotesando, the towns of the yougn people just flirting with the town of the chic people.... On omotesando, go to the Kiddy land and to the Oriental Bazaar to buy presents from Japan and toys for your kids.

From Tokyo: Hakone of course, Nikko is beautiful also (2 hours- you can go for a one day tour)...it is colder than the towns...Kamakura is good also, but as you will go to kyoto, no need to go there.

Here are the mains things you should see..but not all.

Please enjoy Japan, it is really a good destination for holidays

Japan is extremely chilly in winter. I used to stay able pronounced as Toyama the place the temperature used to flow all the way down to -8 stages at night in December. It snows lots in lots of places. Hokkaido is lots chillier in winter. yet Tokyo and the close by factors are actually not so chilly in winter in comparison to the different places. The temperature may be someplace in between 2 - 12 stages. Have a chuffed adventure!! * i ask your self why might 3 human beings placed a thumbs all the way down to my answer once I surely have written some thing approximately my own adventure...... advance up adult adult males!
