Queen size bed?
Because of the ceiling over my stairs, I can't fit a queen size box spring up the steps. Right now, I have a queen size waterbed but plan on getting something new soon. Is there any other type of bed (queen size) besides a waterbed that doesn't use a box spring? I know I can use the mattress without a box spring but I wonder how comfortable that would be. I also know I could get a king size since the box springs are actually two twin size. Any other ideas out there?

Have you thought about using your water bed frame but with a regular mattress instead of the water bed mattress?
A friend of mine did this and it works great. The money you save on not buying the box spring and frame could be used towards a better mattress.
Or try a platform bed. My son did this when we moved into our new house.

There may be Queen sizes available that use the double box spring. I have tried cutting down the box spring in the center so that it could be folded. That really did not work too well.
