Not necessarily. Running is probably determined by a load of factors
1. Environment - this can influence how a person turns out as much, if not more, than genetics
2. Training
3. How many genes are involved (some things are due to several genes and the presence or absence or duplication of certain gene types)
4. Lung efficiency and oxygen in blood
5. Skeletal muscle tone
6 .Natural stamina
7. Imagine that the only thing that determines if you'll be a good or bad runner is a single kind of gene. The parents may be carriers for the gene for not good runners. Everyone has two sets of each gene - each copy of the same gene is called an allele. One is dominant (it always shows if it's present) and one is recessive (it is always masked when a dominant allele is present)
Assume that for good or bad running there are two alleles involved. 'Good' allele is dominant and the 'Bad' allele is recessive. If both parents give their child the allele for fast running, then the child is likely to be a fast runner. If one parent gives the child a 'Good' allele and the other gives the child a 'Bad' allele (which can happen even if the parent is a good runner - they might have a 'Bad' allele masked by the 'Good' one), then the child will either be likely to be fast, or average paced, depending on how strong the 'Good' allele is. If the parents give their child two 'Bad' alleles the child will be more likely to be a slow runner.

Yes because of both parents gens its very possible thatthe kids will be good runners justs take practice & wanting to run.

Though they may of inherited an interest in running, your speed comes from both gennetic and enviroment contitions. If your parents are fit, because they train everyday, that doesn't mean you can be fit even if you lie on the sofa all day.
