What's the best program to play an mp4 video file with?

Question

I have Winamp, WMP, Itunes, Realplayer and Quicktime (although admittedly most of them aren't up to date) but none of them will play mp4 video files.  Is there an update I can do to any of my players to make them play it?  If not, what's the best (and safest) program to download that will?

Itunes plays them for me.  Try updating yours.  An mp4 is a mp3 with video.

The newer versions of Winamp and Quicktime plays MP4 files. I use these programs all the time to play these files.

Itunes and QT should play them without problem maybe you have a corrupt MP4.

If all else fails. Get Nero show-time. That is Probably my Fav

FOR ANY TYPE OF VIDEO FILES BEST IS VLC PLAYER
go to http://www.videolan.org and download VLC Player - FREE DOWNLOAD - supports ALL codecs and ALL operating systems (windows, mac, linux, freebsd, beos, palm) - it will play just abt any video file you throw in it - georgeous skins, awesome picture

http://www.altools.net - same as VLC Player supports ALL codecs - VLC Player is prettier for the eyes (nicer skins) but if you watch video with close captioning it is actually better in that case than VLC Player - it gives you some much options with close captioning
