R-E-S Connection Fantasy: Week 1 *DEBUT*?

Match 1: Jamie Noble & Nunzio & Santino Marella vs. Shannon Moore & Stevie Richards & Cody Rhodes

Winner: Marella

Reason/Analysis: Marella has more to gain out of winning this. This is a good match. I'd call it overbooked if it didn't have so many fast paced workers with minimal name value in it.

Match 2: Trevor Murdoch vs. Tommy Dreamer

Winner: Trevor Murdoch

Reason/Analysis: Murdoch unstraps a turnbuckle, ref gets distracted re-lacing it. Cade comes in and the Redneck Wrecking Crew hits their patented Hi-Low for the win. Good match, and one I'd actually give time to develop. I wouldn't mind seeing this as a feud.

Match 3: Matt Hardy vs. Jeff Hardy vs. Elijah Burke

Winner: Burke

Reason/Analysis: The Hardy's spend the match getting their tag team on when one botches a move and "accidentally" hits the other. Let's say a moody Matt gets the brunt in of a botched Jeff Hardy enziguri. Matt smack talks Jeff into the corner and gets into his face just as Elijah hits a sandwiching Elijah Express. Matt falls out of the corner and to the outside holding his back. Burke pulls Jeff out of the corner and then whiplashes the back of his head on the bottom turnbuckle with an Elijah Experience (STO dealie he does.) Burke covers Jeff for the pin. Match has potential and midcard name value, but I'd rather see it 1 on 1 or 2 on 2 when it comes to the Hardy Boyz and an opponent. I'd much rather see Burke v. Matt or Jeff alone, or Team Xtreme tagging against Burke and maybe MVP...that's classy booking baby! WOO!

Match 4: Diva Battle Royal - All Divas - Winner Is New Womens Champion

Winner: Mickie

Reason/Analysis: James needs some attention (and I'd love to give it to her, giggity-giggity) and a win like this would get her back in the title scene. I'm not a big fan of women's matches or Battle Royals, but the mixture of the two makes a decent dynamic and a watchable match.

Match 5: Hardcore Holly vs. MVP

Winner: MVP

Reason/Analysis: Porter is all about credibility, and you get a lot coming out of a match with Spark Plugg Holly, especially if he hits you with that stiff arsenal. Porter could come out of this looking like a top heel while still making Bob look like the badass he is. considering the 12 match card, fairly good spot for this match.

Match 6: Balls Mahoney vs. Super Crazy - Hardcore Championship

Winner: Balls

Reason/Analysis: People are still aware that Mahoney has a contract with WWE, I can't say the same about Super Crazy. Seriously, one week he's beating Kennedy, the next he's jerking curtain like a confused pre-teen. What gives? This would be a terrible match, even if there were hardcore stips involved. Balls don't work well with everyone (teehee). The card placement is ridiculous, this should be the second match of the evening, if not a dark match.

3/5 (I feel generous, it should be a 2 at best)

Match 7: Paul London & Brian Kendrick vs. The Major Brothers - Tables Match for Tag Team Championship

Winner: Majors

Reason/Analysis: Londrick is a credible tag team, and the Majors could use a win over a credible tag team in a high profile gimmick match. I was ready to condemn the idea of a table's match, but it could really help the Majors come out looking like underdog success cinderella stories (No, not like Bob and Sean). Questionably high up the card, but I'll let it slide a little.

Match 8: Edge vs. Umaga

Winner: Edge

Reason/Analysis: Umaga shouldn't beat Edge, but he should beat the hell out of him. He needs to maintain his monster heel posturing, so I could see Umaga losing to dirty deeds from the Rated R Superstar. Umaga has impressed me with his ability to work with others in any setting on a passable level, I think this would be a good match, although you're hitting my heel v.heel booking pet peeve on the head.

Match 9: Triple H vs. John Morrison

Winner: Triple H

Reason/Analysis: The game's on a midcard squashing rampage, and make no mistake, the former ECW champ is midcard. This could very well turn out to be a terrible match. I don't see Hunter working well against Morrison's unorthadoxed style, that is, if he let the "E" book this as a legitimate match instead of a 5 second murder (1 to kick Morrison in the gut, 1 for locking in the pedigree, and 3 for the pinfall). While I question the longevity of this match, I second guess it's failure if given time..I mean...some of the best matches ever have taken place between HHH and HBK, and Morrison is a little like Michaels in style. This is too high up the card as well.

Match 10: John Cena vs. Batista vs. Kane

Winner: Cena

Reason/Analysis: This could be a good main event match, and should be the main attraction of this card (I'll rant on Taker v. HBK Ladder Match later) Neither man listed is as high calibur as Cena as far as credibility goes, and therefore neither should beat him...but they are good obstacles.

Match 11: Big Daddy V vs. Mark Henry

Winner: V

Reason/Analysis: V could use a win over his old friend the strongest man in the world. If the crowd were really behind this match, and both men played on one another's strengths well enough to put each other over as monsters, this match could be entertaining. I could see a slow mythodical build of test-of-strength and shoving, followed by a classic game of shoulder block chicken, leading into a (semi) fast paced vicious melee. This is good booking, but depending on how into it the fans are, and I question how much they would be, it shouldn't be this close to the main event.

Match 12: Shawn Micheals vs. Undertaker - Ladder Match for R-E-S Championship

Winner: HBK

Reason/Analysis: It's HBK, there's a ladder, it's simple wrestlematics (Not to be confused with Thuganomics...patent pending). It would be a great ladder match, considering both men have performed (well) in a ladder bout before, but you can't deny HBK's rep and edge.

Now, to the rant...I HATE gimmick matches in the main event. I HATE'EM I HATE'EM I HATE'EM! (does Herman Munster stomp) Anyway, I maintain that Cena/Kane/Batista should be main event. With that being said, I can't deny the greatness of this match.

Match 10: Kane would win. Good Match.

Match 11: Big Daddy V.

Match 12: wow this match would be awesome they're both very skilled wrestlers but i think HBK would win the R-E-S Championship. Outstanding Match.

Could you also put some Legends on there Like Stone Cold, The rock or Bret Hart it would make a lot more interesting.

i like the idea of R-E-S connection but i think with more superstars it is harder to make better storylines!

1. Santino rolls up Cody for the win.

2. Real stiff match. Dreamer with a DDT.

3. Matt Hardy after Jeff nails the Swanton on Burke and Matt throws him out of the ring.

4. Victoria wins last eliminating Mickie James.

5. MVP defeats Hardcore Holly with the Playmaker.

6. Super Crazy with a huge moonsault.

7. Major Brothers with an upset since they are the bigger team.

8. Umaga wins after Edge gets himself DQ'ed.

9. Morrison wins after Edge spears HHH behind the refs back.

10 Cena wins after he nails Batista with the FU after he takes out Kane with the Batista Bomb.

11. Both men get counted out for brawling on the outside of the ring.

12. Undertaker wins after he chokeslams HBK off the ladder.
