how to dispose of an old mattress in Oakland California?

Please help is there any type of curbside pickup for an old dingy mattress I need to get rid of? I am willing to pay for the service but I dont have a ton of money. Does the city offer some type of program? Thanks so much

Call the Goodwill or Salvation army, they will be happy to pick up your mattress

you could either donate it to charity or contact this garbage collection agency and ask them about the bulky item pick up program. it should be free assuming you pay your garbage bills.

Contact your recycling company and find out the details. Some have a special pickup day; others have a drop-off point

I used to live in San Diego, and we had a few days per year when we could put old furniture and junk in front of our homes/apartments, and the county would pick it up. Check with your city and county. Another idea- check your classified ads. Some people advertise that they will haul things to the junk yard for a price.

Throw it in someone elses front yard in the middle of the night. On fire would be best.

Take it to another city and dump it. Even another state if necessary.
