I whole heatedly agree that the uproar over the phrase is ridiculous.
The people who get their tidy-whiteys in a bunch over this do have one leg to stand on, and that's that the original pledge didn't include the phrase "under God. It was added sometime in the fifties. OK, 1954 to be exact.

There are some religions that don't believe in pledging allegiance to anything or anybody but God. For them, pledging allegiance to a flag is asking them to do something their Bible version says is just plain sinful.

the last time i checked i was an American and according to the bill of rights i have freedom of speech and will use under god no matter what. i am 65 yrs. old and fed up with all this hoop la about the usesage of religious speech in schools and not being able to post the ten commandments on federal government property, that property is public real estate that we pay for, if the religious language offends you don't look at it! i don't particularly like looking at pornagraphic magazines on the news stands so i don't look at them.

Nobody will stop doing anything because it says "God" because most people in America look for success. They most likely will though change "Under God" but they're only planning this because as you know America is freedom of religion...

You know what I find ludicrous?
Even if God isn't real, what difference does it make? I mean if the thought that God is real makes everyone a better person and serve their country better, why change things?
I believe in God, by the way.
