How do I locate a US Army service record by dog tag number?

This is for a deceased US Veteran from the Korean War era. We have the dog tag and would like to look up the service record.

    I don't know, I do however, remember seeing a service person database at Fort Lewis. If there is a nearby military installation that allows tourists, try there. I don't know how far back those databases go though, or if they are even still around.
