What makes it unhealthy to eat raw cookie dough&do the number of calories change once the dough is bake?
I've always wondered why it's so bad to eat raw cookie dough. If it was so terrible then why do they make cookie dough ice cream? What's in it that causes people to say that?
IF it's true, then what's the probability of really becoming sick, the amount you would need to consume, and the side effects or complications I should expect?
AND.. since the chemical composition of the dough changes when it's baked into a cookie does that mean the number of calories change also? If so, aproximatly how many calories would it fluxuate?

Most people would say because of the raw egg. As with any raw egg item, there's a slim chance of salmonella poisoning. That doesn't stop thousands of people from eating ceasar salad though.
The probability of getting sick is probably fairly low. Chances are your mom & grandmother ate raw cookie dough when they were kids. It's only in more recent years that this has been frowned upon.
The calories don't change in the oven.

Many cookie dough recipes call for raw eggs. Uncooked eggs have the potential for Salmonella, a really unpleasant problem. You can use Pastuerized eggs to reduce the problem.
I dont think the calories change....

The way eggs are produced now increases the risk of salmonella poisoning because of the overcrowded conditions the hens live in. Eggs bought from a farm are a lot less risk, or you could buy pasturized eggs. I saw them in the grocery store, but 1 dozen of them costs as much as 3 dozen regular eggs. I'm going to get a dozen to try making real egg nog this holiday season.

whiskeyman510 is right...it is the raw eggs that makes cookie cough dangers.
Cookie dough ice cream doesn't contain raw eggs.
If your cookie dough doesn't contain raw unpasturized eggs, you can eat it.
I love Cesar salad but only eat it if it's made with pasturized eggs.
