Yes they do but they are also very divided. Recent polls indicate that if elections were held today, Hamas would lose power. I think the 'destruction of Israel' issue is a serious red-herring. The PLO changed its constitution some yrs ago to remove calls for the destruction of Israel. And anyway, noone seriously believes that a people armed with slingshots or suicide-bombs, without an airforce, tanks or a navy can destroy Israel - a nation with the second largest airforce and 4th largest army on the planet. The Palestinians have endured decades of occupation and in that context it is not surprising they are angry as they see their homes demolished in the West Bank to be replaced with Israeli settlements. I would be angry if someone did that to me. Of course that does not justify terrorism against civilians. But Israel seems not to distinguish between this and Palestinian attacks on their soldiers. Israeli rule in the West Bank is not internationally-recognised and is therefore an illegal occupation. I really have to say that I believe as a European, that a lot of Americans are forgetting their own history. Remember that you had to fight for your independence 220 yrs ago.

We all know they won't rest until they kill every Jew. Thier argument is faulty that Israel is Arab territory. Before the Arab invasion, it was occupied by Jews, and before them it was occupied by the now extinct Cannanites, which were mostly descendants of a maritime people with roots in Crete. The land goes to the earliest surviving owner. Besides, why would anyone besides a retard or a terrorist want to give the land to terrorists? Thats bad for everyone, including the Arabs.
