  • Does the Palestinian Authority really want a two-state solution?

While the Palestinian Authority announces in English its demand for a two-state solution, to its own people in Arabic it continues to define all of Israel as "Palestine," and to promise Israel's destruction. A new video clip, broadcast numerous times daily since it first appeared on Fatah-controlled TV, passionately promises "Mother" that every Israeli city will be "liberated" because its "identity is Arab" and "Palestinian”:

"We will liberate the Land… [which] is Arab in history and identity, Palestine is Arab in history and identity."

And to ensure that no one limits the land of the future "liberated Palestine," the song defines the scope of Palestinian cities, which include all of Israel:

"From Jerusalem and Acre and from Haifa and Jericho and Gaza and Ramallah

From Bethlehem and Jaffa and Be'er Sheva and Ramle

And from Nablus to the Galilee, and from Tiberias to Hebron”

  • How do Arabs react when the firefighters come? Does it make any sense?

Firefighters called to the Arab village of Daburiyah in the Galilee were attacked with rocks even as they tried to put out a blaze that had broken out in a local warehouse owned by local Arabs..

After being driven away from the building several times, they finally succeeded in extinguishing the fire.

What was in the minds of the local Arabs in preventing the firefighters from extinguishing the fir in an Arab-owned building? Is this a sign of sanity?

  • Are questions removed from the Israel section by request of anti-Israel elements?

I had asked an excellent question, which received 26 replies. And then some Arab supporters protested, and my question was removed.

Then I mentioned this fact in a question, and asked to what extent do the supporters of Arab terror actually engineer the removal of questions that oppose their viewpoint. The same supporters of Arab terror saw to it that this question, too, was removed.

I had asked, "How many Palestinians want to leave the Middle East? Is this the solution to Israel's problems?"

Someone wanted to stifle debate on this topic. It appears that I had struck a sensitive nerve.

In any event, the video clip at http://www.youtube.com/v/kocnxtwfmg... shows clearly that a large number of people who identify themselves as Palestinians are anxious to leave Gaza.

Some 700 thousand have availed themselves of the opportunity to enter Sinai, and they will return to Gaza only if the Egyptians force them to do so.

  • When will Israel fight back against the Islamic terrorists who bombard southern Israel with rockets?

The Olmert administration tells additional southern Israeli towns to get set for Gaza bombardment. Military operation again deferred.

Hamas has extended the range of its missiles from Gaza to as far afield as the towns of Ashkelon, Netivot and Ofakim and blocs of smaller locations such as Magen, Miftahim, Kerem Shalom, Habsor, Gevulot, Tzeelim and Urim. This brings another 175,000 inhabitants who have so far escaped Palestinian missiles within Palestinian sights.

On Dec. 6, deputy defense minister Matan Vilnai made the rounds of this region and warned local authorities to prepare their towns and villages for bombardment. He had no answers on any military response or how their citizens were to be protected from this new peril. DEBKAfile’s sources reveal that prime minister Ehud Olmert, defense minister Ehud Barak and chief of staff Lt. Gen. Gaby Ashkenazi have again decided to defer a major military operation for wiping out the Hamas war machine in Gaza.

  • The 1974 PLO "Phased Plan for Israel's destruction?" What was it?

The PLO was born with a commitment to the destruction of Israel; in the early days of the organization, they would consider nothing other than that immediate objective. The October 1973 Yom Kippur War convinced the Arabs that they would not be able to destroy Israel through military action within its post-1967 boundaries.

Thus, they embarked upon a new three-stage strategy for Israel's destruction, embodied in the Palestine Liberation Organization's 1974 Political Program, commonly known as the "Phased Plan," adopted at the 12th Session of the Palestinian National Council, held in Cairo, June 9, 1974.

The plan has three main articles:

    1. Through the "armed struggle" (i.e., terrorism), to establish an "independent combatant national authority" over any territory that is "liberated" from Israeli rule. (Article 2)

    2. To continue the struggle against Israel, using the territory of the national authority as a base of operations. (Article 4)

  • Who told the Arabs ("Palestinians") to flee from Palestine?

A plethora of evidence exists demonstrating that Palestinians were encouraged to leave their homes to make way for the invading Arab armies. The U.S. Consul General in Haifa, Aubrey Lippincott, wrote on April 22, 1948, for example, that “local muftidominated Arab leaders” were urging “all Arabs to leave the city, and large numbers did so.”

The Economist, a frequent critic of the Zionists, reported on October 2, 1948: “Of the 62,000 Arabs who formerly lived in Haifa not more than 5,000 or 6,000 remained. Various factors influenced their decision to seek safety in flight. There is but little doubt that the most potent of the factors were the announcements made over the air by the Higher Arab Executive, urging the Arabs to quit....It was clearly intimated that those Arabs who remained in Haifa and accepted Jewish protection would be regarded as renegades.”

  • What would happen if Israel is forced to leave Judea and Samaria (the "West Bank")?

Hamas Islamists, who seized control of the Gaza Strip in June, would take over the West Bank if Israel pulled out of the territory, a senior Hamas leader said on Friday, November 9, 2007.

"Israel says the party in Ramallah (Fatah) serves Israel, and if Israel quits the West Bank, Hamas will take it over. And we say this is true," Zahar said at a rally for Hamas supporters in Jabalya refugee camp in northern Gaza.

Hamas Islamists took over the Gaza Strip after routing forces loyal to the Western-backed Abbas. Israel and the United States are trying to bolster Abbas, who dismissed the Hamas-led government and formed his own cabinet in the West Bank.

"We say to those in the West Bank take a lesson from what happened in Gaza," Zahar said, an indirect reference to the fierce violence that led to Hamas's takeover of the coastal strip.

Israel has warned that Hamas would be poised to take over the territory were it to withdraw its forces.

  • What is Yitzhak Rabin's real legacy?

In the Knesset (Israel's parliament) on October 5, 1995, former Prime Minister Yitzhak Rabin declared:

"Here, in the land of Israel, we returned and built a nation. Here, in the land of Israel, we established a state. The land of the prophets, which bequeathed to the world the values of morality, law and justice, was, after two thousand years, restored to its lawful owners - the members of the Jewish people. On its land, we have built an exceptional national home and state.

"We view the permanent solution in the framework of State of Israel which will include most of the area of the Land of Israel as it was under the rule of the British Mandate, and alongside it a Palestinian entity which will be a home to most of the Palestinian residents living in the Gaza Strip and the West Bank.

"We will not return to the 4 June 1967 lines.

"First and foremost, united Jerusalem ... as the capital of Israel, under Israeli sovereignty.

  • What do the Fatah pray for regarding Americans?

The Palestinian Authority (Fatah) daily newspaper’s political cartoon today illustrated a prayer for the killing of Americans. A Muslim is shown kneeling in prayer facing a US B-2 Stealth Bomber. The words of his prayer are encased in missiles aimed at Americans:

    "Allah, scatter them!”

“And turn their wives into widows!”

“And turn their children into orphans!”

“And give us victory over them!”

This curse for the death of Americans is a special prayer for Al-Qadr Night (the 27 th day of Ramadan, noted in the corner of the cartoon), when Muslims customarily pray in mosques throughout the night.

This continues the identification by the PA and Mahmoud Abbas’s Fatah faction with those who fight and kill Americans. The most recently published 12th grade PA schoolbooks, for example, call those who fight American soldiers in Iraq "brave resistance.”

  • How can Israel stop Arab terrorists from murdering Israelis? By handing over more strategic lands?

In the summer of 2005, the Israel government unilaterally pulled the Israel Defence Forces out of Gaza and uprooted all of Israel's settlements in the area, leaving the territory completely in Palestinian hands. The Israeli leadership hoped that this would result in the cessation of terrorism from the area.

But the opposite occurred! The number and variety of rockets hitting Israel increased.

So would you recommend that the Israelis turn more strategic territory over to the Arabs in the hope that this time the opposite will occur?

Albert Einstein said the the definition of insanity is doing the same thing over again and expecting different results.

Now the Israel government spoke specifically of cutting off electricity to Gaza's inhabitants if more Kassam rockets were launched from the Hamas-controlled territory, and of a possible fuel cutoff down the road.

  • Does it make sense?

Here in the Israel section, one Tabatha continues to badmouth me, but because she has blocked me, I have no opportunity even to see her "questions," let alone respond to them.

This is an upside down world.

Let me just say that her words about me are unfounded.

In any event, we can learn something about Arab-Jewish relations from the following.

there was a massacre of the Jewish community in Basra in 1776 (in what is now southern Iraq). And one of the most historically important instances of anti-Jewish violence of the nineteenth century occurred in Damascus (now the capital of Syria) in 1840.

Arab violence against Jews has been going on long before there was an occupation, long before there was a refugee problem--indeed, long before there was a political Zionist movement. Need I present more painful examples? Perhaps even further back, where I hope everyone will agree that the Zionist movement did not yet come into being:

  • Why do the Hamas cause the deaths of Arab children?

The Israel defense Forces (IDF) struck several rocket launchers in northern Gaza Wednesday, saying it refuses to allow Hamas to guard its rockets by placing them in populated areas.

PA sources claimed three teenagers and children were killed in the strike. The children were apparently sent by Hamas terrorists to adjust the launchers. The IDF identified five launchers with suspicious figures moving among them and launched the strike.

The previous night, IDF soldiers intercepted a 15-year-old suicide bomber dispatched from northern Gaza.

“We are not talking about the first time this has happened,” military correspondent Avi Yissacharov told Israel Army Radio. “This phenomenon of Hamas paying ten shekels ($2.43) to children in order to retrieve the launchers has become the norm. The terrorists launch the rockets from afar via remote control and know that if they approach the launchers they will be hit, so they send young children.”

  • Hebron is the second most holy place to the Jewish people. What about its Jewish Quarter?

From the year 1540 until 1929, Jews lived on a large plot of land in Hevron, commonly known as the Jewish Quarter. It was purchased by Rabbi Malkiel Ashkenazai, a refugee from the Spanish expulsion in 1492.

In 1807, Haim Bajaio purchased, on behalf of the Hebron Jewish community, a five dunam plot of land adjacent to the centuries old Jewish Quarter, for '1,200 grushim'. The deal was witnessed and signed by no less than 22 Hebron Arab notables. This property served Hebron's Jewish community and later accommodated the home and synagogue of Hebron Chief Rabbi Eliyahu Manni.

Following the Jordanian occupation of Hebron in 1948, the entire Jewish Quarter, founded by Spanish-Jewish exiles in 1540, was razed to the ground. Among the structures destroyed was the ancient Avraham Avinu synagogue. In the early 1960s, an Arab fruit and vegetable market was constructed on the property bought by the Hebron community in 1807.

  • How "moderate" is the PLO?

Palestinian National Charter is the official PLO doctrine. Decide for yourself if this seems to be a "moderate" organisation that accepts a two-state solution and rejects violence and terrorism.

Article 2: Palestine, with the boundaries it had during the British Mandate, is an indivisible territorial unit.

Article 7: … [the Palestinian] must be prepared for the armed struggle and ready to sacrifice his wealth and his life in order to win back his homeland and bring about its liberation.

Article 9: Armed struggle is the only way to liberate Palestine. Thus it is the overall strategy, not merely a tactical phase. The Palestinian Arab people assert their absolute determination and firm resolution to continue their armed struggle and to work for an armed popular revolution for the liberation of their country and their return to it.
