The 1974 PLO "Phased Plan for Israel's destruction?" What was it?

The PLO was born with a commitment to the destruction of Israel; in the early days of the organization, they would consider nothing other than that immediate objective. The October 1973 Yom Kippur War convinced the Arabs that they would not be able to destroy Israel through military action within its post-1967 boundaries.

Thus, they embarked upon a new three-stage strategy for Israel's destruction, embodied in the Palestine Liberation Organization's 1974 Political Program, commonly known as the "Phased Plan," adopted at the 12th Session of the Palestinian National Council, held in Cairo, June 9, 1974.

The plan has three main articles:

1. Through the "armed struggle" (i.e., terrorism), to establish an "independent combatant national authority" over any territory that is "liberated" from Israeli rule. (Article 2)

2. To continue the struggle against Israel, using the territory of the national authority as a base of operations. (Article 4)

Update:

3. To provoke an all-out war in which Israel's Arab neighbors destroy it entirely ("liberate all Palestinian territory"). (Article 8)

The Phased Plan remains the basis of PLO actions, even in the era of the Oslo Accords. Speaking on September 1, 1993, just after the announcement of the 1993 Israel-PLO agreement, the late arch-terrorist PLO Chairman Yasser Arafat announced on Radio Monte Carlo that the Oslo agreement:

* ...will be a basis for an independent Palestinian state in accordance with the Palestine National Council resolution issued in 1974... The PNC resolution issued in 1974 calls for the establishment of a national authority on any part of Palestinian soil from which Israel withdraws or which is liberated.

In addition to the action plan against Israel, Articles 5-6 of the PLO plan call for a revolution in Jordan to establish a new Jordanian regime.

Update 2:

EU citizen is basically right. Just to point out that Fatah is one of the constituent organizations of the terrorist PLO.

I think that everybody here knows and admits (except for the Arabs, who know but do NOT admit publicly) that the goal of the Arabs to eliminate Israel is still in effect.

The question that remains is that if we all know it, WHY DOESN'T ANYONE DO ANYTHING TO PREVENT THIS?

If the Israeli prime minister thinks that he can supply weapons to the Palestinians, and give them land to conduct their activities, and that will make them love him, he is either naive or foolish.

Yes Israelis and Jews, yes I said Jews, are the problem of this world. Racist or not, whatever any of you will comment. Jews are trouble makers, they are greedy, and cause problems to others if you stand in their way. I hope to see the day the Jewish Race and the Fake and forged state of Israel, get of that pedestal they've place them selves on thinking they are better than everyone else, and come back down to earth. Oh and if you, as a Jew disagree, well you would wouldn't you, its in your blood to think you are superior, if you aren't racists you selves why do you hate Arabs so much, and don't you marry outside of you religion, and stop baby killing and land steeling. To hell with all of you!!!

The "phased plan" is getting used against Israel ideal now by utilising the PLO under Mahmoud Abbas. They look for to income what they are able to via negotiations and concessions from Israel, then end Israel off via bloody jihad. it extremely is antagonistic to the attitude of destroying Israel favored by utilising Hamas - merely outright bloody jihad.

It is unfortunate that Allah.Arafat is so outspoken.

We Arabs are winning at this point, thanks to Abu Mazen portraying himself as a moderate, and the world is buying that. And Olmert also trying to appear moderate.

We must not expose our real ambitions at this point. That too, will come, Arafat, but try to hold yourself back at this point.

The world is almost ready to believe that here was no Jewish Temple in El Quds. It is working out better than we could have dreamed.

Forget about the 1974 plan now. The events taking place will bring us everything we want.

Sounds like a well thought out and rounded plan for the destruction of Israel....

If you mean that FATAH (the successory of the PLO )then Israel has a problem i guess if what you say is true.

It is no secret that the Arabs -- all of them, Palestinians. Egyptians, Saudi Arabians -- the whole bunch, do not want us in their midst.

But it is good to see documentary evidence from time to time.

The long winded guy said it all I think. The ask-er. Not much left except the leader of Fatah is as nasty and dirty a thieving little man as his hero Arafat.

Let us forget about the past both had Plans the Zionist and Palestinians. Today the issue is the Israeli occupation of Palestinian land which was never part of Israel.
