Power Rake or other equipment for your lawn?

I bought a new home and we are planning on reworking the lawn that is mostly weeds. I have heard of using a power rake but is their any other equipment I can rent other than a bobcat.

Thanks.

May I recommend a "Dingo" made by Toro. There are many attachments available for these machines. They don't do nearly as much damage to the ground as a Bobcat does! Many equipment rental companies rent these machines by the day, so they are affordable.

Here is a link to the site so you can see what they look like and the attachments available.

The best way is to level out the lawn as good as possible use a roller to pat it down .When the weeds are active spray them with roundup and when your sure its all dead water real good and see if anything comes up repeat the roundup spray.you then want to cut the weeds and stuff right down to the ground with a good bagging lawn mower so as to pick up any seeds. You can then run a power rake which is like a mini tiller to loosen the soil up,if its too compacted you will need a tiller as you want a soft soil to plant your seeds in.Plant lots of seeds, run the power rake over the seeds to bury them and roll again and water every day till it comes up.You should have a great lawn.Good luck.
