A rat died in my engine. I can't find it. What can I do?

This is really gross! I thought it was dead in my garage somewhere but I opened the hood today and found a nest. There's one dead in there somewhere and I can't find it! What should I do?

take to a detailer and have them steam clean your engine compartment, if you dont want to do it yourself

gloves, a mask and eye protection, then let your nose tell you where. hopefully it didn't crawl into the heater/ac ducts to die. i knew someone who had an odor like yours, went on for a couple weeks, then the a/c quit blowing. The dead rat was in the a/c ducts and had shifted and clogged the air. But for a couple of weeks the air was blowing over the dead rotting rat and blowing into the guys face....yuck!!

Keep driving the heat off the engine will take care of it
