Time to vote for the GREATER of two evils?

Obviously, this lesser of two evils thing isn't working.

Since politics is basically about lying, backstabbing, and general strategic ruthlessness, shouldn't we vote for the greater of two evils?

I've often wondered about doing this, sort of like betting the "don't pass/don't come" line on a craps table in Vegas (also known as wrong betting). Here's my logical process:

    All politicians are liars.

Liars do the opposite of what they say they will do.

    I want specific policies enacted.

Therefore, if I want these policies enacted I should vote for the candidate who says they will absolutely, positively, NOT enact them.

Which is the greater evil? A politican who tells you he'll do something and then does the opposite, or a politician who tells you she'll do something and then actually does it? What if we didn't vote for evil at all? Oh yeah, you wind up like me, a bitter Libertarian.

    Which greater of two evils?

The Republican party these days is full of a bunch of neo-conservative cowards, no better than their liberal mongering democrat counter-parts.

Or the ridiculous concept of Hillary or Obama?

I feel bad for the Americans with the new elections, their forerunner candidates are either a woman or a black man.

With the war still raging on in Iraq, now is NOT the time for new adminstration that carries the burden of ushering in a new social/racial/gender turn in the White House.

    Pity.

I won't vote for the greater of two evils - Hitlery Rotten Clinton.

Why vote for the more destructive candidate. That means you want more damaging things to happen. That's not logical!

Like your thinking... I say, let's vote out of the party, anyone affiliated with Democrat or Republican parties, anyone who has held a federal elected position and anyone who thinks the US should be isolationist are off the list. Let's vote in some fresh meat... Couldn't be any worse than what we've been voting for the last 40 years.

More importantly, since whichever evil wins gains power and thus commits greater evil, haven't we ALWAYS voted for the greater of two evils?

Your logic is humerous, but ill conceived. Your reasoning would have me vote for Hillary, and that is something that God himself would have to command me to do, to have it actually happen.

haha using your logic I would have to vote for one of the biggest liars ever and I refuse to vote for Clinton.

Steve, I wouldn't vote for her even if God told me to directly!
