Well, in this day people haha don't really like to read. There are some that do like to but not many. but there can be a solution to your problem. you could try and write about topic that grabs the audience as a whole, something that everyone can relate to, and be sure to add pictures. This catches the eye of a lot of people. Soon you should get a comment or two. Don't worry about what's cool and what's not. if you want to do it, do it. Blogs can be fun, you just have to make them that way

not everyone can see every blog and there are so many blogs about 90% get no replies or comments.

Start commenting on other peoples blogs and they'll comment on yours

very few people care to read other peoples blogs unless they are famous.
