Folks, is there such thing as the "best type or form of government"?

The really best form is for people to govern themselves by being morally upright, self-controlled, caring, honorable, above reproach, and of impeccable integrity. If we can't be that way, the best form of government is one that serves humanity, which puts the interests of the people first and foremost, above industry, above corporations, above special interests, above everything. The best government helps the people be the best they can be.

Certainly. A government that only does the following can not cause many problems:

Provide for common defense.

Protect our borders.

Punish evil doers.

No other functions of a National Governement are legitimate.

Winston Churchill said it himself; "Democracy is the worst form of government except for all those other forms"

Only at that moment and for that people. Best is relative and situational.

Republic - like ours. (as long as we can keep it from creeping too far to the side of "democracy" where we cater to the lowly masses
