Suggestions for a weekend trip in Taiwan?

Out of Taipei, for a start, if you have a car. We live in Hualien. Drive here, then take Highway 9 through the East Rift Valley to Taitung, then back along the coast on Hwy 11. Scenery is stunning. Lots of hot springs along the way. Seafood to die for along the way.

if so there are alot of night market to go. Taiwanese food are relli relli relllllli good :D

go shopping during the day market but it's relly crowded there and may stink ..

go to the street where they sell computers and you'll find everything you want related to electronics...

there is alot of stuff...

go to the park in the morning (around 6) you see old ppl doing tai chi ... and other martial artists :D

go to the AKC karaoke bars. The songs are english but the words aren't. Get a little tipsy and have some fun!

I would head off to Taroko by train.
