Just ask yourself how they can make such wild and speculative claims when they're not even sure to what degree the climate will have changed by the year 2050.

And just where did the "10 billion species of plants and animals" figure come from? That seems to me to exceed the number of species of plants and animals that the earth contains in the first place.

Trying to tie human values to species of plants and animals makes about as much sense as "man-made" global warming in the first place.

The comparison is a bit odd, since one talks of the number of species that will go missing, while the other one talks of the rate with which human values will vanish. How to compare decreasing numbers of tangibles with rate of vanishing intangibles???
