1) log base 3 (x to the fourth power divided by the seventh root of y times z to the sixth power) [the log base 3 is outside the parenthesis]
2) log(x-5) = 8

log[3] x^4/((y)^1/7)* z^6
=> log[3] x^4 - log3] y^(1/7) - log[3] z^6
=> 4[3] log x - (1/7) log[3] y - 6 log[3] z
2)
log(x-5) = 8
if log is to the base e
x - 5 = e^8
x = e^8 + 5 = 2986
if log is to the base 10
x -5 = 10^8
x = 10^8 + 5 =
