What's up with the gas prices?

All I heard from the left during the past elections is how they were going to get to the bottom of why the gas prices were so high. I'm still waiting to hear why. Maybe it's because OPEC controls oil prices and not Bush. What is really sad is the the government makes 10x more off a gallon of gas in taxes than the oil companies. So where are all the Democrats on this issue? No wonder the approval rating is at 11%.

get it right the government taxes are higher then the profits of the refiners. the problem is the crude is also owned by the oil companies who are in partnership with the producing countries. OPEC does not pump barrel and ship crude oil they are in partnership with the oil companies who sell crude to themselves and then refine it. it is all just numbers on paper but the fact is the oil companies are making a killing off of the inflated crude prices.

Gas prices are high because the middle east is unstable.

The government loses money on gas. The actual cost of gallon of gas is about $11 when you factor in all the work it took to get it to the pump. The government gives large grants to oil companies to go on "oil hunting" expeditions. They keep the cost down. So americans never really pay the full price. Stop complaining and seek help for your oil addiction.

Them Democrats have the purse strings back, and lower oil taxes hurt the give aways. Hard to blame bush now.

What's funny is the same loones on the left who p i s s and moan about the price of gas, think nothing of paying $1.50 for a 16 oz bottle of water. Their logic is really something else..

When you take state and federal taxes combined, the govt. makes more like 14-18 times more than the oil company per gallon.

Our government is the largest organized crime on the planet.

And of course we get liberals blaming conservatives when Hitlary and Byrd are the king and queen of pork, causing taxes to be so high because of their pet projects. Face it, Congress is to blame...BOTH SIDES!

Because they ignore the fact the one of the main reasons is the US hasn't built a refinery in over 30 years. They don't want the wrath of the EPA on them, so they just talk the BS talk.

Unrest in the Middle East raises gas prices.

North American oil is much more expensive.

Prices are rising because the Neocons are threatening another war....this time with Iran.

And if there is chance for war in the Middle East, prices always rise.
