Taurus Millennium Pro 9mm best self defense ammo?

Hydra-Shocks, Rem. Golden Sabers,Extreme Shock, Hornady TAP, Glaser Safety. All extremely awesome defensive rounds!! I would suggest buying a box or two and running them thru your pistol, to see how they feed and handle. By the way the Mil Pro is a nice little gun!

I'm shocked that no one has mentioned the grain of the bullet. You can get hydro shocks in multiple grains or weight. do you want a light 115 grain bullet. Or the heavier 147 grain hollow point hydro shock. Personally I will aways go with the heaviest hollow point I can get. Also Federal ammo is awesome, I have never had a single failed bullet or feed with them. Go with anything from Federal that's 147 grain and hydro or hollow. Winchester silvertips, CorBon, Speer Gold Dot. But I think all but the Winchester is a plus P round. It's kinda hard to find a good performance defensive round in 9mm that isn't a plus P cartridge. Is there some reason you don't wanta +p or +p+ round? The milleniums are rated for high pressure ammunition.

I have used Hydra-shoks for years and I find they feed and preform well in my 9mm. In the independent test for expansion and wound damage, they always rank high if not the best. They are commonly available and not too expensive. It's a personal preference and there are several good options, but I recommend the Hydra shoks.

Hydro Shocks would be good. Speer Gold dots. Now the gun I was told in 9mm, .380 was not good. Problems with the gun itself and then was told to get the .45ACP. I was going to purchase the .380 or 9mm. I am still strongly considering it myself. Hope I helped with the ammo though...
