Designing the perfect weight loss program.?
OK, based upon all the things you have tried...if you were starting from scratch, how would you design a weight loss program? What would you definately leave out. What would you definately include?
Thanks for the info so far. I'm looking for how you would design a weight loss program as a business. If you designed a program to market that was better than weight watchers, south beach, etc. etc. etc. what would you include or leave out and how would you prefer to get the word out?
So far, I hear you saying to make it simple and to include a support group system.
OH, and don't promise quick miracles, but encourage slow and steady victories.

INCLUDE:
1. Excercise. Something that gets your heart rate going. Do this 2-4x per week.
2. Yoga. This practice will teach you discipline, get you in touch with your anatomy, and helps you heal injury (if practiced correctly). Work with a great teacher. Do this 1-6x per week.
3. Eat well. Learn about nutrition. However, be wary of saying to yourself, "Well Fitness magazine says ______ are good for me so I'm going to eat them all day long." Pick either to be a meat-eater who can eat very few carbs or try going vegetarian. Portion size is essential either way. Avoid getting really full; eat to satiate hunger. Be moderate with everything.
4. Think positively! It's easier than many make it out to be.
5. Be busy. Clean your home/room really well instead of sitting on the couch for a long period of time. Do a favor for someone. Go to a concert instead of watching one on t.v.
FORGET:
1. Frozen "light" dinners. The food is gross.
2. Becoming addicted to the gym/excercise/diet food/the scale.
3. "Designing a weight loss program." Make changes in your life. When you make everything black or white or on or off the program, you lose a lot of the benefits each change can contribute to your health and appearance.
4. Being Afraid of Hunger. Ok, sometimes you are going to be a little hungry. Many studies and historical references show this to be a healthy part of a day. Never starve yourself but do realize being a little hungry is okay. It sounds mean and very different from all the "Never Feel Hungry Again!" diet promises, but here's what helped me lose about 75lbs over the course of 4 years -- being full all the time is bad for you.
5. Feeling bad about yourself. We are all beautiful and undergoing on this journey will help you realize how strong and amazing you really are!
GOOD LUCK! YOU REALLY CAN DO IT!

I found the book to be very informative and easy to read.
I've lost 17 pounds in 12 days, I'm just concerned that I'm losing too much weight, too quickly. I will admit I haven't followed the guide exactly. I'm not sticking perfectly to the listed foods and meal plans (but mostly) and doing very little exercise, but the weight keeps flying off.
It clearly works and if I'd followed it exactly I think it would scare the living daylights out of me because of the amount that I'd lose. So thanks again for the information. I've never purchased anything like this before because they are usually full of trash, but 3WD has been a pleasant surprise.

Hey, of the countless diets that I have been on, the only one that did it for me was Adams fat code (just look it up on google). Truly the most successful diet that gave me a new life.
