Christians.Why do you believe that your religion is not based on fear?

Christianity does have a basis of fear, I will agree. However, that is only a small thought to a true Christian. If God is truly in your life, kindness and love toward others comes naturally. Not out of the fear of his wrath, but from the seed of love he has sown in your heart.

The fact is, all religions are based on fear of the unknown.

I disagree. When I was converted, it was not out of fear. It was more out of need. After reading the Bible for a while, I developed a healthy fear of God because He will discipline His children when they sin.

I do not believe in an eternal fiery hell. So where am I supposed to be getting all this fear from..Can't you believe some things are just done out of love and respect.

Christianity is based on justice and mercy. You choose heaven or the other place. It is not God you should fear, but your own weak self.

GOD gave his only son to die for us on the cross he shed his blood so we can ask for forgiveness of our sins and be saved that is a fathers true love for all of his children GOD BLESS

God has given everyone the opportunity to hear, to read and to understand the Gossip. Christians like Jesus have not used hell to scare people....we have said it to warn people...If you don't believe in God, or heaven, then you should not be fearful of hell (it doesn't exist, remember).

It's based on Jesus Christ alone. He came to save us from Hell and live in a place of peace (Heaven). If you are fearful of hell then believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and you too shall be saved. Have a wonderful day!

We are to fear God. Fear him enough to worship him. If you don't understand that, sorry.
