problem with broadband connection?
i have a problem with broadband it automatically disconnects .
and prevents from opening any site and shows message 'page cannot be displayed' stops downloading , but in network connections it shows connected and it also doesn't disconnect with manual attempt . and computers are still there in qiuck launch but with no lights . Is this virus or something else if virus then please tell any good anti virus .
when it disconnects window apears like windows 98 (old look)
for few seconds then restores to normal xp look again . error is displayed sometimes" Generic Host Process for Win32 Services has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience".Is this error related to the same problem. I have to restart my computer to reconnect and same thing happens after sometime

the problem and your error sound like different problems because if they were related your connection wouldnt work at all or just most of the time. Sounds like your network card may be bad or your modem may be bad (cable modem or dsl modem, or router if you have one)

I suggest to do a major clean up so that we can discount a few theories
if you do all this then we can have another look if it still occcurs
do it in order as written here.
1. Slow computer IE freezes
==================
Slowly tap the F8 key while the computer is powering up
Just after Verifying DMI files occurs the F8 key will point the computer to a menu where safe mode can be selected.
Note if you mistakenly tap F8 key again, it will continue through to normal boot
Scroll and select safe mode with network
Use explorer to delete the contents of the folder datastore.
Datastore can be found in c:\windows\softwaredistribution.
You may have to do this regularly when the computer slows.
The folder rebuilds itself and the contents are to do with windows updates and logs for errors. There is no harm in deleting the contents.
Reboot. and go back into the safe mode menu
select last known good configuration and continue.
Also
In IE7 Advance Tab
Click Restore defaults
Tick empty temp files when browser closes (this empties the cache)
Bullet disable phishing filter
Delete all your history, cookies and add ons etc in your browser.
Then Do all this
2. Clean Up Computer

Download and run superantispyware. I was put onto this program because of an annoying popup (XP)

Superantispyware is a good program and remember to update it before scanning. A scan may take 45mins.
afterwards clean up the registry with this

To clean up run this Microsoft’s windows live program. It does registry, spyware , virus , disk clean up and defrag
it takes 2 hours or more so once it starts to scan (go to bed etc)

Run the full scanner, then at the end of the scan it asks you to set it running full time.
Think twice about setting it to run in the background as it could be another thing to slow you down. However, it may be worth while if you have no other security programs running.
Consider the following options:
I personally run Norton 360 which is full internet security and run superantispyware when I want to.
So if you don’t have a decent internet security program then perhaps run the superantispyware with your antivirus in the background.
If you sick of antivirus programs that don’t work perhaps run onecare full time and run superantispyware whenever..
Hopefully you are up and away if problem arises take note and ask a more specific question.

It could be a virus, however the issue could have so many causes that it's really not a good idea to point at one thing without narrowing it down.
Since you mention the Windows errors, I would suggest running a repair or reinstall of Windows. If you reformat and reinstall, this will also take care of any virus issues.
Also, in Network Connections, you can right click the connection in question and select repair. This will attempt to renew your ip address and fix any issues with the connection.
However, from what you have described, it appears to be a Windows issue and not a problem with your ISP, hardware, or virus.

right click my computer, goto properties, and then hardware, goto device manager
once you are there, find network adapters
rightclick on the network controllers and select uninstall...
then reboot your computer
if you are using a modem then do the same for the modem as mentioned above

get an antivirus if you dont have one, "AVG free" and update the antivirus and scan the whole computer for virus
get antispyware/anti adware like Microsoft windows defender, Spybot search&destroy, lavasoft ad-aware personal,
you also need a firewall like zonealarm personal, comodo firewall pro, this will help you keep those pesky programs from freely accessing the internet and also keep those pesky snoop from attacking your pc easily

Check the connection at the back of the modem.If it is loose or it wiggles you need to replace it.9 times out of 10 it's a modem problem and nothing more.

your operating system crash, try to repair it with window installation cd, and scan your hard disk to check whether it have any bad sectors or not. If it does, you can consider to change your hard disk, try it
