why is the Ohio State Buckeyes so great?

they have not choked, they are VERY well coached, they lost tons of talent from last year and appear to be even better this year. They win each game convincingly, which other powerhouse teams have failed to do against bad teams like Stanford, Kentucky (great qb, thats it) Vanderbilt. the ability to just go out and do your job is something that only a couple teams have been able to do this year. They are talented, Boekman makes great decisions, we have two super talented runningbacks, and the best defense in the nation. maybe not as fast as some other teams, but they play smart football. don't doubt them until they show that they can't compete. plus, they were ranked 11 in the preseason, and all the teams ahead of them lost. we have played 3 ranked teams in wisconsin, Penn State, and Purdue

There not "great" they are good but not great. They have only played or should I say have been challenged twice all year and that was there last two games. There defense is awesome, but before you say they are great you have to beat all the teams you play with out any kind of struggle, they struggled in the first half yesterday. I think they maybe one of the best teams in the country, if not the best right now, but not great. I am and SEC fan, but I do not think there is any "great" teams there either.

The closet to being great (in the SEC) is LSU, but they have made way to many mistakes over the past four games. Fortunately they are close enough to great to be able to overcome those mistakes. They have the potential to be great. Talent wise the only weakness they may have is at QB, but if he plays within himself he has the supporting cast to win. The "stupid mistakes" have plagued them all season, they are the most penalized team in the SEC, eliminate the penalties and maybe they are great, until then they are not. I think these two teams are "really good" and both have the potential to be great, but they are not there yet. By the way having a loss does not you can not have a great team, and being undefeated does not mean you are great. Hawaii is undefeated, They are in noway or shape as good as either one of theses teams.

I hope these two teams meet in the NC game. I think it would be one of the "greatest NC games" ever. Especially if both teams are healthy and focused.

Anyways, to answer your question, I don't know. I think one defeat drops them right down the poll. I just hope Michigan shows them up when they play each other.

Im not saying they are great. But hint at this. They are a team thats rich in college football tradition. They seem to always bring a qaulity team to field every year. Even in their down or rebuilding years. Alot like this year.They are coached well, they play well. Of course they play by the same rules every team in the ncaa plays by. lol. And that is, only one team wins the game, and at the coin flip no matter what your record, injuries or conference you play for you have a 50/50 chance of winning. Its not their fault they have won all their games. Or is it?

lets see they played wisconson and penn state thats the 2 hardest teams theyve played and michigan keeps rolling well see in two weeks who's better im a wolverine fan and i honestly beleive that michigan will not only win that game but win by 21+ 55 michigan 20 ohio state

SEC whiners will say it's because of their schedule. Waaahhh....

But in REALITY, it's because they have the best coach in the country, high class players, great discipline, great fan base nationwide, and great recruiting. Nuff said.

because they beat smaller teams [ cup cakes] doesn't make them great,

they are not, they are just a victim of a soft schedule.
