Question for Manchester United Fans Regarding a Possible Goalkeeper Change?

You have all probably by now heard the rumors of Van der Sar being replaced, and Sir Alex's interest in Guillermo Ochoa. Manchester United will probably buy Guillermo Ochoa, the Mexican goalkeeper on the cover of FIFA 08 (North American version), in fact. He has international experience, shut out Brazil at the Copa America, and during a recent friendly against Brazil, completely shut out Ronaldinho. He has now been praised as one of the best goalkeepers by two of Brazil's legends, Dunga and Romario. He was also nominated for the Player of the Year 2007 by France Football. He is also very young, 21 I believe. Do you think Sir Alex Ferguson is going in the right direction in giving the post to Ochoa?

Well if u haven't heard that Ochoa kid is ranked as the World's 3rd best goalie and was also one of the 50 nominated for the 50 nominees for the Ballon d’Or award

So he isn't bad so he doesn't deserve to be bench by some 37 yr old goalie when he has so much potential.

Therefore United shouldn't buy him if he they aren't going 2 use him cuz then his talent will be a waste.

Man U should by Guillermo Ochoa NOW before his gone somewhere else. Him and Van der Sar should fight for their place. Having Guillermo Ochoa in the squad means he will pick up one or two things from Van der Sar and at the same time compete for a starting line-up. Van de Sar wouldnt really get dropped no matter how rubbish he plays (not that he is rubbish) so having Guillermo Ochoa in Man utd would bring out the best of both of them.

MAN U FANS!!! Do you hold a Manchester United credit card? They give discounts for tickets and merchandise for Manchester United credit card holders. You also get points for using your Manchester United credit card which you can redeem on tickets and other Man utd stuff. If you havent got one yet, check out http://www.officialfootballcreditcard.co.uk/ http://www.officialfootballcreditcard.co.uk/manche... soon as I get enough points, im gona redeem them for Manchester United tickets.

Listen i completely Agree with with you guys Van der Sar is a great goalkeeper nobody is saying otherwise, i give credit were its due.... but i just ask you to take a look at any of Guillermo Ochoa's videos on youtube or in any of his games i think if he gets a shot at Manchester no one will be disappointed, he is a great player for his age and is deserving of an opportunity, i don't play favoritism i love soccer in general and i don't affiliate myself with only one team but you have seen the stats hes among the top 10 goalkeepers in the world today and is nominated by France football for player of the year 2007, it might not seem much of an acomplishment but for his short age since his debut he's on the rise extremely quick!

    Hello there.

I don't know if United are entirely serious in their pursuit of Ochoa. I too have heard the rumors but I think that United have other options before they would get Ochoa.

Tomasz Kuszczak has proved himself to be an incredibly able keeper in the times where Van Der Sar has been injured. Ben Foster also proved that he has the potential to become one of the best keepers in Britain.

Van Der Sar is still good, and still has at least a year in him, maybe two. I would love to see Ochoa at United, but I wouldn't get too excited until I actually see him in a red shirt.

Yes, i think that Sir Alex is going the right direction, i am a fan of club america and i believe that ochoa has a great future with international experience and he has the qualities and the motivation

i think if van der sar leaves then kusack should be number 1 goalie- after all he sits patiently on the bench to be called up and when he is he does us proud-

ben foster is a great goalie- and in a few years he will have the experience to be man uniteds number1 - a lot of pressure to stick a young lad in a net and tell him to keep goals out- the premiership title depends on it- he too young for that stress at the moment.

i say: BRING IN BEN FOSTER MANN!! WHOOTS!! :))

lols. :) 21... hmm. well, hes kind of young, isnt he? he might not be able to adapt to english football that fast. and we cant really take much chances, because we ARE playing in england, and you cant afford to let in gazillions of goals, can you?

i guess ferguson should put him in, maybe as a reserve first? and let him play reserve football to get used to england. maybe? i dont really know.

what i DO know is that i want van der sar to be replaced. he DID do a pretty decent job for us, but hes already 37 or something. hes gettin a little too old...

no! i think they need someone with experience! van der sar is the only keeper man utd have signed since schmicheal that has ever come close to being as good as schmicheal and man utd singed him when he was 35! i think man utd should sign juventus world cup winner buffon

if he buys him he wont use him till 2008 and not in champions league

it'll be a while before van der sar is gone

IF MANU DOES BUY OCHOA THEN GOOD FOR THEM.

IF NOT THEN THEY ARE GOING TO REGRET IT WHEN THEY ARE PLAYING AGAINST ARSENAL OR BARCELONA AND OCHOA IS STOPING ALL OF C.RONALDO AND W.ROONEY'S SHOTS
