Which computer software can I use to cut an mp3?

I want to cut out a part of a song to make a mp3 ringtone, Got the song on my pc just need a program that lets me cut the seconds I want for my ringtone. I only got a program that let me do these with AMV. but not in mp3

please freeware or shareware and that works on windows xp

    Audacity is what you need. Lets you edit any type of sound file. And it is a free open source program. So free dowload on their website. Just click on the source link.

    There are numerous free .wav .mp3 editors out there- some better than others.

    Try http://www.sharware.com/ and see for yourself.

    You'll probably get dozens of suggestions -but- find one that fits your particular needs.
