Labor Question?

Ok, so I've been in the hospital for several stays over night and I have realized that I absolutely abhor hospital gowns. I'm very small, so I swim in the gown. And the neck rides up when I have to get out of bed to use the ladies. Have any of you Moms used your own nightgown during labor? Is it more complicated than using the hospital gown for shots and the like? I think I would like to use my own, for physical comfort and for mental comfort.

You can if that is what you want...They usually have no problem with that...

I hated the hospital gowns too.

I am planning a homebirth this time and plan to wear a nursing tank-top, That way I still feel somewhat clothed and still have access to the areas below...

It will just be me, hubby, midwife and doula...so who cares if I am not wearing pants...they're all going to see there anyway!

Depending on the hospital you are using, then they generally do not allow you to wear your own gown during labor and delivery. This is due to safety. In case of an emergency they want you to wear the gowns that can also easily snap off. But, after delivery, you can wear whatever you want. Although you probably won't want to wear your own pjs then because you will be bleeding heavily, and you'll just get them dirty.

my second child came so fast i didn't have time to do anything but take off my clothes I still had on my T-shirt LOL. but with #1 the gown came in handy! lol i had a LARGE gown also but it helped to cover my behind while getting up to use the bathroom and all. after delivery I changed into my own gown but during delivery i would suggest wearing the hospital's because you will have heavy bleeding during labor.

While you have an IV in I suggest the hospital gown just because it's easier if you have to change but after that you should wear what you want to.

I have a feeling when you're giving birth the last thing that would be on your mind is what gown you're wearing!!!!! Also, the hospital gowns are sterilized with special soap and will be bacteria free. Good luck to you!

Point a million: Every celebration has to uncover volunteers to face as applicants. Not ample volunteers - now not ample applicants. Point two: Standing in a hopeless ward, despite the fact that fascinating for the entire country wide events, isn't consistently realistic, and, of direction, charges cash. Standing way placing up a deposit, and publishing election fabric. Point three: In 2007 I do not consider any celebration is fielding applicants in additional than 60% of the entire council seats up for election. There is a ward close me that is obviously solidly Tory. A few years in the past the Tories could not uncover a candidate. Nor might every other celebration besides Labour. So he received the seat through default. The man was once a conventional ancient staunch socialist and it was once fairly ironic that he spend four years representing a prime Tory rural ward. The Tories made definite they publish a candidate four years later. P.S. If you are going to cite Shakespeare you will have to no less than recognize it. "Wherefore" truthfully way "why are you", now not "in which are you". Juliet was once asking why Romeo needed to be from a loved ones with whom hers had a feud.

over here in the UK we use our own gowns and it has never been a problem i made sure my gown was quite short and had no sleeves so that if i needed any needles or injections i could have them with no worries so i don't see there being a problem with you wearing your own gown but just check to be sure.

PS make sure it is one that can be thrown away because mine had stains on it from where they delivered my son onto me
