Will the United States of America, as we know it, still be around in the year 2020?

Except for the expected changes because of technology we will be pretty much the same. I can't imagine how a dictator could possibly take over our country. Clinton is the closest thing to a dictator and out to sell our country but even if she were elected we would withstand her treason and impeach her quickly and for good. There is no reason for a civil war. Most Americans want the same things. We ALL want illegals out of the country, we all want the war ended , though we differ on how to achieve it. Despite many minor differences Americans are pretty much thinking of the same goals in th future. I don't think our borders will change in my lifetime but it could happen that the Philippines could become a state. That is the most change I expect to see. I have faith in Americans to work together to keep America the greatest country that has ever been and keep it that way for Americans. <<steps off soapbox...

The United States of today isn't the United States of twenty years ago and will not be the same twenty years from now. We are a dynamic nation changing almost daily, just as we were designed to do to change with the times. The U.S. constitution was originally written with TEN amendments, (a.k.a the bill of rights), ten changes right out of the gate.

There's no way of telling if there will be any drastic changes, i.e. a dictator, but the U.S. of 2020 will most probably not be the same as today.

Actually it just might be better. How could things get much worse? Dubya and gang have really screwed things up. We are darn near having a dictator right now. I don't think there will be a civil war because so many people are apathetic and will go with the flow.

i dont see america being under a dictator, the dictator has to have someone who will fight for them, americans have to much of a free will and believe strongly in freedom.
