Ok, my dog had a big mast cell tumor removed. It was excised cleanly... is he going to be ok?
It was malignant. The vet said he's got 60/40 odds that it won't come back

There are a couple of things here to consider.
First, when cancer appears on the skin, (the largest organ there is) it is because the internal organs are already overloaded with toxic chemicals. I have been teaching about this for 30 years by the way.
So you definately want to look around and see what chemicals this dog is being exposed to that you can get rid of like - carpet cleaner outgassing, pesticides, tile floor cleaners - even the chemicals from flea/tick or shampoos can contribute!
Next beef up the immune system with suppliment support.
Next you qualify for membership (as I did unfortunately) to a yahoo dog cancer email list that you can get on to get direct support, insights and specific resources from called Canine Cancer (link below) .
Please accept that there is a significant chance that there is cancer elsewhere that has yet been detected so do your homework now as if he still had it what else could it do. So dont drop your guard! Keep checking and reducing those toxins!
With their help, I kept my dog alive for almost 5 years with a great quality of life shen she was only expected to last for a couple of weeks!
Good luck and I send a prayer for your baby's well being!

It is good that you had it removed and biopsied. But since he has had one, it is good to do your checkups and regular vet visits to make sure no more re occur. Just keep an eye out so that you can continue to catch the bumps before they get big.

Was it malignant or benign?? Either way if they got all of it, and there is no more signs of it, then he will be fine! Give him a great big hug and kiss, spoil him while he is recovering, and give him plenty of his favorite treats, he so deserves it!! Good Luck to you and your sweet baby!!
